COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Extremely volcanic carbonation. The nose didn’t give up a whole lot at first, but after a minute, a honeycomb, slightly nutty earthy aroma came through. The color is a lovely golden amber, and the cream colored foam was peppered with cinnamon colored flecks, really very pretty. On the palate, the first impression is of crystallized ginger, dry, and with honeyed overtones. For 10% alcohol, the body is not as weighty as I would expect. The finish is very dry, with the slightlest bit of white pepper on the finish. Really gorgeous stuff.

Pours a medium golden color with a frothy white head. Aroma of sweet hay, pineapple, pear, and a light bitterness. Fruity flavor with hay, wet grass, a bit of pear. Light bitterness towards the end. Creamy, wonderful mouthfeel. Another awesome beer from de dolle.

A combination of caramel and roasty hit the nose, with a hint of floral. A deep amber to browish hue with a medium to thin head. Hazy with little life. Sweet and malty taste up front. Bitters late on the tongue. Finishes with a slight dryness. Full on the palate. Like other De Dolle’s, just a great beer.

Bottle at GBBF 2009, 5th August 09. Hazy gold with a persistent white head. Feels like 7 or 8%, not 10%! Cereal aroma, like a tripel but softer. Nicely restrained flavour and then a lovely malty finish. Perhaps you could argue it needs more complexity, but this is lovely.

Cloudy, amber hue. Deep, subtle taste with caramel undertones and a slight bitterness. One of my favorites.

Bottle. Pours a golden beer with chunks and an offwhite head. The aroma is fruits and phenol. The flavor follows the nose with alcohol. The palate leaves alcoholwarmth. Overall a complex beer but too much alcohol.

Cloudy brown. Caramel, apples, toothpick, sugar, light hops and some musty yeast. Flavor is sweet and a bit of tart apples hidden within some nice yeast and wood flavors. Damn nice!

From lithy via trade. Poured a hazy brown color with an almost two-finger tall, creamy white to off-white head. Spots of lacing. The aroma was lots of sugary sweetness, yeast and some alcohol. The flavor was a well balanced blend of sweet malts, yeast and alcohol towards the finish. Thin to medium bodied mouthfeel. Well put together. Enjoyable.
