Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Bottled. A hazy orange beer with a large white head and yeast sediments floating around. Aorma is yeasty and spicy, fruity with some sweet notes. Flavor is sweet caramel with with fruity and slightly sour notes. Woody, earthy and dry finish. Lingering and spicy mothfeel.

Bottle from Mi Orge Mi Houblon, Arlon, Belgium!
Pours golden orange with a lovely creamy white head. Aroma is fruity, hoppy, with some honey in the nose. Taste of dried fruits, honey, herbal hips and a perfumey note. Very fizzy carbonation. Goes into a boozy, perfumey finish with some fermented fruits and lots of honey.

Pours a slightly hazy light gold with a huge head of foam. ..great lacing left behind. It smells hoppy, spicy, lightish on the malt profile. First thing that I notice is an abundance of candi sugar sweetness followed by spice like cloves and pepper. Slight bitterness but it can easily get overlooked. Pretty lively carbonation to go with the medium body. A well brewed example of the style.

There are wonderful beers, stunning, fantastic; keus bos is one of those beers. When I am lucky to find one in so I buy several testing their evolution. A beer that takes me an hour and still leaves me with different feelings for each drink can only be described as one of the best.

33cl bottle, served in tulip glass. Golden colour (some sediment floating), white lasting froth. Both aroma and taste are mostly yeast and alcohol, especially remarkable in the flavour (some hops added). Lasts for too long on the palate. Medium body, good carbonation. Drinkable, but definitely too strong and unbalanced.

Part of a stellar tasting lineup at K&L Wines in Redwood City. A little disjointed, with the sugar showing through a little too much in the taste. Beautiful appearance with massive white head that lingered.

Bottle, ABV 9%. Pours a hale orange with a decent, white head. Aroma is dried fruits, fruity, apricot, light ethanol. Taste is fermented fruit, dried fruit, apricot, light caramel, some yeast. Light sour, very complex. Full, high carbonation.
