COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl, I think. Appearance - cloudy golden amber. Thin head. Nose - orange into marmalade. Like a barley wine. Taste - brown sugar and marmalade again. Palate - mediumto full bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - good beer.

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Bright opaque golden amber in the glass with a medium to large soft white foam head. Nose is delightful. Big, fruity, floral, perfumed, caramel, toffee, bready, funky, creamy, floral blossom, hints of citrous peel, grass, honey. Lots of sweetness, with a stunning floral yeasty nose. Taste is citrous bitter, lemon, grapefruit and lime peel, caramel and toffee, grassy, straw, toasted grains. So fragrant and full of flavoured. Amazing beer. Nice bitterness on the finish balanced with sweet caramel notes and big big perfumed fragrant Belgian yeast.

0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, 2016 version (website says 9% abv, no information on the label), best before February 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a ridiculously large, very dense, stable, white to tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of dried apricot, clove, Belgian candy, banana and some grassy hops. Sweet, malty and slightly fruity taste of dried apricot, banana, clove, Belgian candy and some yeast, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Classic, sweet and satisfying, balanced by a solidly hopped finish, but the carbonation is too high. Very nice though!

Beer Gonzo’s beer of the month, which I bought knowing nothing more than that. It’s a mighty powerful Belgian blonde, with a lot going on. Lots of fluffy white head and big lacing, on top of a slightly cloudy gold body. Body is full and well carbonated. Aroma has pear, herbs, Belgian esters and citrus - maybe pineapple. Taste has honey, vanilla, pears in syrup, herbs, white pepper, with a dry and bitter finish.

This has a hazy dark orange body covered by a large, fluffy cap of white foam with some brown streaks. Nose has spicy and peppery esters, honey and wild flowers. Taste is sweet and quickly followed by a rather strong bitterness that leads to a lingering dry finish. Very high carbonation and light, warming mouthfeel. Quite complex and interesting, a slow sipper.

A slightly less demanding beer than the Stille, but wow, this works well given the season. A belgian maibock? Something like that, why not... you all know it’s good.

Tap @Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fa, Roma. Hazy orange, thick white head. Yeasty aroma, fruity with hints of anise. Yeasty, slightly spicy flavour. Some sweet malt. Fluffy and creamy. Ok.
