COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Bottle. Hazy gold pour with thick foamy white head. Aroma of spicy belgian yeast esters, vanilla, stonefruit, light wild de dolle character that makes this brewery’s fame. Taste is sweet, malty, really fruity with a lingering spicy finish - nice hoppiness for the style as well. Palate is full bodied with the rich creamy carbonation I always get from De Dolle beers. Heavy beer, but pretty darn tasty.

Bottle Amber/yellowish with a big white head. Alcohol, yeast, ripe fruit in the aroma. Taste is sweet, yeasty, peppery, has nice herbal bittnerness, some clove as well. Medium body, soft carbonation, dry with a long after taste.
Good but easy to forget.

33cl bottle. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small stable white head. NOSE: fruity esters, alcohol, caramel, very sweet, little malty, walnut? TASTE: very sweet beer, though slight hop and even dry aftertaste, very full in taste and carbonation. For me a little too much alcohol and sugar. Probably preserves ages!

Sweet and exceptionally balanced beer. Smell is as it tastes, candy and malt aroma, slight lemon citrus. Great beer as always from de dolle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Like a combination of light champagne and Tripel, well hidden ABV, soft with some residual sugar, this beer drinks amazing. Tasted at 60F.

330ml bottle into a goblet. No date but I’m pretty sure this is 2008 or 2009 vintage. Pours a nearly clear dark gold with just a tiny bit of fizz for a head. No lacing at all. From the aroma I can tell this has been sitting around for quite some time. There is a strong sherry note that screams oxidation overpowering some peach and grape notes in the background. I’m afraid this one might be past its prime. The taste just confirms what I feared with the aroma. More sherry and cardboard that covers up what I presume was once a great flavor. Light grape and white wine buried underneath but it is drowned out by molasses, cardboard, and brown sugar. Fairly sticky with a thick finish. Overall, I am really disappointed. I thought the age wouldn’t really hurt this beer but it obviously has. A couple years might have been ok but five or six is just too much. A shame.

Tap at Ølbaren, Copenhagen. Hazy gold with a white head. Lacing too. Bready taste with lemon and apricot fruity notes. Definitely a complex yeastiness to it, with banana-like notes showing up. Lightly sweet. Balanced, refined and quite easy drinking. I enjoyed this almost as much as Stille Nacht.

Slight hazy light golden with medium crisp bubbly white head. Honey, candy, lemondrops, tea, sweet maltiness and some barely ripe grapes. Very sweet, with light tartness and herbal bitter finish. Full bodied with nice carbonation and slightly sticky feel. Quite strange stuff, very sweet, but I really like it.
