Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Cloudy brown. Caramel, apples, toothpick, sugar, light hops and some musty yeast. Flavor is sweet and a bit of tart apples hidden within some nice yeast and wood flavors. Damn nice!

From lithy via trade. Poured a hazy brown color with an almost two-finger tall, creamy white to off-white head. Spots of lacing. The aroma was lots of sugary sweetness, yeast and some alcohol. The flavor was a well balanced blend of sweet malts, yeast and alcohol towards the finish. Thin to medium bodied mouthfeel. Well put together. Enjoyable.

Pours a hazy gold with a very thick white head. Aroma is very hoppy, floral and with citrus. Flavors of citrus and apples, yeast and hops. A good alcohol feel and some spices. Good carbonation with a sweet and bitter dry finish. A great ballance of complex falvors. A great beer.

From the Bottle at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 05/08/2009 Yeast aroma. Some carbonation. Golden bronze coloured and a little hazy in appearance. Strong in alcohol. A little dryness in a crisp malt finish.

Bottled at Plan B. No BBE found. Starts with a basic gush, flakey amber, fizzy but staying white head. Nose is candi sugar, cellar, little honey, vanilla, some Dolle-yeast; earth and licorice. Flavor is pretty similar to aged dulle teve, a tad hot, very spicy, some cellar and sweet sugariness, black pepper, spices linger on. Medium to full bodied, tingly strong carbonation. Drinkable, but nothing really shining through, except for that cellar.

Extremely carbonated pour, hazy light apple cider color with a big frothy white head that is slow to dissipate. Aroma also holds apple cider, pear, yeasty dough, a bit of Belgian spice, and a bit of orange rind, and some tartness that applies itself to the fruit qualities. Flavor has great Belgian yeast qualities, good tart citrus, pear, and apple, and some sweet honey notes as well. Finish holds a lot of booze; the 10% really adds a nice warming quality. Palate holds lots of the carbonation from the pour, and slides across the tongue with good presence, but not too much thickness. Really a nice BSA light; De Dolle continues to impress me.

Pours like apple cider with copious billowing white topographic foam. Aroma is spontaneously fermented applejack, pear, dough, citrus, tart peach, and nectarine. Flavor is quite fruity- tart nectar is followed closely by an ester filled yeasty dough profile. A honey like light sugar profile yields tart fruit and prevalent booze. Palate is medium bodied and highly effervescent, making way for a pillowy, warming finish. Super unique and interesting.
