Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Beer Gonzo’s beer of the month, which I bought knowing nothing more than that. It’s a mighty powerful Belgian blonde, with a lot going on. Lots of fluffy white head and big lacing, on top of a slightly cloudy gold body. Body is full and well carbonated. Aroma has pear, herbs, Belgian esters and citrus - maybe pineapple. Taste has honey, vanilla, pears in syrup, herbs, white pepper, with a dry and bitter finish.

This has a hazy dark orange body covered by a large, fluffy cap of white foam with some brown streaks. Nose has spicy and peppery esters, honey and wild flowers. Taste is sweet and quickly followed by a rather strong bitterness that leads to a lingering dry finish. Very high carbonation and light, warming mouthfeel. Quite complex and interesting, a slow sipper.

A slightly less demanding beer than the Stille, but wow, this works well given the season. A belgian maibock? Something like that, why not... you all know it’s good.

On tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a hazy golden with a creamy, lasting, off white head. Aroma has anis, honey, belgian yeast-spices, hops, esters, pear, plums, vanilla, some alcohol. Taste is pretty sweet, but with very little alcohol presence at first, vanilla, spice, honey, followed by some hoppy bitterness and a hint of booze. Rather hight carbonation and a somewhat full, but for the ABV light body.

Vintage 2010 Amaretti, biscotti, sciroppo d’acero, alcuni ricordi di frutta sotto spirito. Frutta dolce, albicocche sciroppate, splendido aroma, veramente invitante e meraviglioso.
