Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Botlle with the light blue label @ Kulminator. Clear golden, off-white head. Some spices in the nose, bit spicy. soft, slightly carbonated, sparkling. Yeast, slighlty fruity, some old bottle effect, grassy finish.

Bardzo dobre piwo ze znacznym udzialem cukrow i mocy alkoholowej. Piana niczym wodospad, po nalaniu i paru minutach zamiast opadac to rosnie jeszcze w kieliszku. Wspanialy kolor pomaranczy lekko metny. Owocowo biszkoptowy smak. Finisz przypomina likier owocowo-alkoholowy. Polecam

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2014 Very nice, drank bottle from Geers @ Oostakker. Too bad this only gets brewed once a year.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden color with a thick foamy off-white head. Aroma of yeast, oak, banana and lemon. Sour and bitter taste. Medium body. Bitter and boozy finish.

As all the dolle beers, this one is a bit different from the usual strong Belgian blondes. It has a lively spicyness and some fresh notes of sugar. Nice.

Rated from beer log during 2009 Belgium trip... More floral, earthy aroma than previous beers... Puts Bruges Zot to shame... Sweet and citrusy flavor, perfect for the spring, but amazingly balanced... Touch of spice on the palate... Great beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11.6oz bottle. $5.50 from the Dilly Cafe. Bottled February 2010. These belgian strong ales are supposed to age well, right? Totally hazy darker amber orange color. Dark sediment pieces sit at the bottom of the glass. Good thin off-white head, good retention. Couple splotches of lace. Taste is a bit too sweet, close to cloying, unfortunately. Honey comes through nicely. Some old hop, light spice. Light bit of sweet alcohol taste in the finish, no warmth or bite though. Smooth, soft carbonation. Bigger body. Lightly sticky texture. I wanted to like this one, but itís just so sweet. Why is the addition of cane sugar necessary? I feel like thatís what brings the sweetness over the top. Maybe age hasnít done good for this. The description does suggest that I shouldnít keep it eternally... Thank you, Dilly, for doing me the favor or cellaring (I guess). At least I get to try this. I donít remember seeing it anywhere else.

Honing en perzik in de geur, fruitige smaak met toets van anijs. Zoet-bitter balans.
