COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

2010 Vintage (bottled in February). Bright yellow colour with orange haze. Big shite head that persists for a long time. Nose of flowers and yeast. Full bodied and sweetness countered by nice bitterness.

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a medium, fizzy white head, medium-long retention with good lacing. Aroma is fruity esters, Belgian yeast, earthy hops, and alcohol notes. Flavor is cookie and biscuit malt, spicy alcohol, fruity esters, spicy and peppery yeast, and a dry finish. Full body, medium warmth and carbonation.

33cl bottle from Bierkompass. Poured dark brown with a lasting white head. Aroma is very spicy, yeasty and malty. Very complex. Flavor has yeast, more spices, some fruity notes and some sweet malt. Dry, but warming finish. Full bodied. Quite a strange brew.

On tap at the Brick Store Pub. Pours a clear yellow with a medium white head. The aroma is oranges, vanilla, and molasses. The flavor is very sweet with a pleasant bitterness in the background. The palate is heavy, creamy and smooth. Clean finish, and little aftertaste. Overall, this is a good, easy drinking, and very delicious pale Belgian Ale.

On tap at TJ’s. Pours clear orange with white head. Aroma of honey, lime, earth/basement. Cloyingly sweet. Has a long trailing finish that irritated my palate. Maybe I’m allergic to one of the ingredients. Definitely not my cup of tea.
