Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

33cl bottle, served in tulip glass. Golden colour (some sediment floating), white lasting froth. Both aroma and taste are mostly yeast and alcohol, especially remarkable in the flavour (some hops added). Lasts for too long on the palate. Medium body, good carbonation. Drinkable, but definitely too strong and unbalanced.

Pours an amber body with a thin head. Light yeasty aroma. Very nice creamy taste with tones of malt and yeast. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Part of a stellar tasting lineup at K&L Wines in Redwood City. A little disjointed, with the sugar showing through a little too much in the taste. Beautiful appearance with massive white head that lingered.

Pours a hazy yellow/Amber with full head. Aromas of bananas, marshmallows, and dried stoned fruit. (Belgian yeast.) Creamy flavors of same with additional sweetened honey and light marmalade. Full and creamy. Great stuff.

In short: fizzy sour-sweet beer. Aroma: resin and citric, with hints of yeast. Appearance: dark yellow with thick and lasting white foam. Taste: Strong sour, medium sweet. Palate: bitter and sticky finish.

Pours a hazy golden color with a huge, billowing white head. The aroma is fruity and complex but there is also a bit of a funky barnyard thing going on as well. The palate is sweet, but the carbonation and mild acidity cut the fresh fruit flavors quickly, making for a well balanced drink. Quite nice.

Lekker stevig blond bier met een fijne nasmaak. Wat troebelig en hopachtig.

Pours a fine gold to Amber, with pillowy white head. Some yeast residue floating. Apples and pears on the aroma with some alcahol and effervescents. Drinks fantastically, all the preceding qualities present in an exceptionally well balanced beer. Overall I have to admit I am surprised as this wasn’t what I was expecting. I am a big fan of de dolle, and this beer like there others doesn’t disappoint. Definitely worth trying if you can get hold of it

Bottle. Nose is fruity, pear, banana, cloves, bubblegum, wheat, sugars, caramel, sweet strawberry, yeast. Taste is sweet, grassy, bubblegum, pear, peach, strawberry, caramel, honey, an emerging dry hop note. Yeast and honey in the finish. It’s a beer which makes good use of it’s honey picking up the dry notes you find in good honey, not just the sweetness. Still it’s too sweet overall for me and it makes it a bit rich.
