Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Bottle from Super Saver. Turbid pale gold pour with big, 2-3-finger fluffy off-white head that says "Drink me, you scumbag". The aroma is very hopcitric, with a lot of floral and spicy hints, some yeasty , wheaty malt, and some peach/apricot. The palate is complex, lively, well balanced, with flavors of hopcitrus, funky peaty yeast, spicy florals, and a bit of pale fruits. This one is a standout.

Bottled - ABV 10%. Much foamy and bulky head, optimal adhesion, discreet duration. Extremely hazy and fraught orange color with optimal fizz... much elegant one. Incredible and strongest aroma, percepibile with the glass at a distance. Pleasant flowery and winy impact, with notes of must, alcohol, wine cellar, orange peel and dried flowers. Extremely stinging and lively taste. At the tasting it’s nearly balsamic in the nose with overbearing and agreeable flowery and fruit flavored aromas. Sweet, alcoholic, full, fraught and exceptionally perfumed. Very tasty.

Poured into an Orval glass. I popped the cap and it started to creep out of the bottle. Looks like sunshine in a glass. Very bright yellow and orange. Topped with a sticky snow white head. I had problems keeping the yeast sediment in the bottle. The aroma give off citrus, honey, perfume, and spice. Starts of sweet but quickly switches to a warm citric and alcohol burn. Not really too pleasant to me. Lots of carbonation also. Very prickly on the palate. Okay enought. Just really not working for me today.

Light amber color with a thin white head. Sweet malt aroma and noticable spice. Sweet fruit flavors with some mild bitterness.

Pours hazy dark orangish golden with a big foamy white head. Aroma of apples, oranges, cloves, and a slight note of toffee maltiness. Taste is candy sweet with mellow fruitiness. Mouthfeel is full bodied, slightly sticky with lush Belgian carbonation. Yum.

33 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Unclear amber colour with a huge head. Lovely aroma of yeast, sweetness, candy and hints of spices. Really wonderful flavour of yeast, spices and some candy-like with a touch of sourness. Really nice endeed. Ends up little bitter and warming from the alcohol.

Probably the least impressive of the de dolle beers I’ve had, but still quite pleasant. Poured a very hazy earthy yellow...great looking belgian head.. Aroma was huge candy sugar and sweet malt...a bit of belgian yeast. Flavor was similar...only a bit of the delicious de dolle funk...a bit too heavy on the sweetness. Mouthfeel still managed to be quite spicey and dry.

Spicy aroma, somewhat like a souped up witbier. Some raw alcohol and a bit sweet. A really full bodied beer with great depth. Some good characteristics, but a bit jumbled.
