Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2016 Mooi goudblond troebel bier met oranje gloed en romige witte schuimkraag die goed aan het glas blijft plakken. Zoet fruitig aroma. Perzik, nectarine, meloen, beetje banaan. Zoet en prikkelend in de mond, beetje plakkerig. Likeurachtig, caramel, kandijsuiker. Lange warme afdronk. Heerlijk bier.

Colore dorato tendente all’ocra limpida con schiuma molto spumosa e ampia. Molto belga al naso, lievito, spezie, erbe. Eccellente al palato, dolce con buona speziatura, floreale. Corpo pieno e buona carbonazione.

Bottle, april 10th 2015. Hazy copper body with a big beige head. Aroma of clove, bubblegum, fruits, malt. Delicious sweet medium thick body with herbs, pepper and pears, honey, making a sweet and mild spicy finish. Good one.

Rare and a bit disappointing actually. Hard to describe what that is wrong. Seemed at bit messy in the flavor and to much yeast in the profile. I do not think the honey helped this one.
Clear golden color. All sediments left in the bottle. Fine white head. Strong aroma with candy sugar, honey, yeast, toffee and dried fruits. Full body and a bit to rich carbonation. Quite balanced sweetness for a beer like this. Complex flavor with yeast, dried fruits, some spices caramel and quite vinous. Quite well masked alcohol.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a hazy straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is sweet caramel, toffee, light alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a yeast bitter, sweet malt, sickly alcohol sugar palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. A nice beer, but I don’t get the high ratings from everyone else i’m afraid.

Bottled, 330ml, aged 7.5yrs, from The Hopduvel Warehouse, Ghent, Belgium. Clouded amber with explosive white head. There is alcohol apparent in this from the start, hot and fiery, Yeasty spicy of the Belgian kind, banana and a herby bitterness, quite harsh on the palate. Bif depth of flavour. A big beer.
