COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Many thanks to Guerde. Hoppy nose with honey and faint sweetness. Gold color with sweet meed and a hint of safron.

Amber ish with a big fluffy white head. Smells of honey and yeast, tastes fantastic. It passed the hmm test. First sip, cock my head at my brother and go hmmm very nice. Jobs a good un.

Hazy amber with medium head. Sweet aroma with yeast, peach and orange peel notes. Flavor is sweet and spicy with orange peel, honey and alcohol. Ends bitter.

I was trying to have a lower alcohol content brew. So much for that 10%. Pours an orange yellow color with a medium sized fizzy head. Smelsl liek yeast, bread, and malt. Taste like caramel, wheat, and belgian sugar. This one was a bit different and I liked it.

Bottle, (can’t remember where from) had this 25-12-07 A massive off-white glass of foam was all that initially I could see it slowly dispersed to reveal a lovely beer underneath glowing a hazy golden colour. Sweet honey like notes jostle with yeast and spices for your attention on this powerful nose. The taste was really quite elegant, with spices and a pure silky honey flourish were the most obvious flavours but there was also a dusting of pepper there as well, it all just clicked into place quite splondiferous!

330ml bottle. Deep hazy gold colour with a huge white head - carbonation was excessive, and some floaters. Aroma of honey, citrus some grain and the barnyard. The flavour was very sweet, partially offset by some citrus hops and a decent dry finish. Enjoyable.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2009 UPDATE: Bottle aged a couple of years. Marmalade pour thick with bits, heaped silky collar and dense lace. Pretty straight pineapple cube aroma - sugar yeast and fruit, bit of pine leaking through. Plenty of sugar and tropical (pineapple) yeast. Mellow and sweet with vague oak, alcohol well smothered. 747415. ORIGINAL RATE: Uncontrollable fizzing pour thick with bits. Preposterous foaming head visibly peppered with spice. Intensely citrussy aroma sticky with marmalade, pithy lemon, vanilla, and possibly clove or nutmeg. Big juicy fruit and a sniff of barrel. Musty, peppery and bitterly fruity with a lurking backdrop of peaty malt. Plenty of alcohol and citrus rind bitterness, but cleaner and less agressive than the other De Dolle beers I’ve tried. Big, chewy, wickedly drinkable ale. And what a label.

This beer has more faults than it should but over all the beer is a pleasant drinkable one. The taste and aroma has a paper mache feel to it. the good parts are deep rich fruits and dark malts.
