Pours a very hazy golden color, with a thick white lacy head. Alot of babana in the smell with with a hint of flower petals. Very smooth on the taste, with hints of banana. A little sweet, with just slight notes of whiskey in the end. This was the first De Dolle I ever tried and and it made a good impression. Very easy drinking and nice balance.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BitchesBrew (713) - Oakland, California, USA - JAN 17, 2007
[bottle] Aroma of fresh green apples, yeast and noble hop spiciness. Pours a cloudy light copper color, with a glorious fluffy, white head. Flavors are quite: fruity (oranges, melon and a bit of banana) and spicy, finishing with some very nice yeast flavors that provide an interesting, odd complexity -- almost woody, in a way. Carbonation is pretty lively. Overall a quirky, interesting brew fron De Dolle.

11.2 oz bottle-pours cloudy chunky light orange with a foamy white head with lots of lacing. the chunks bring down the apparance by a whole point for me. nose is fruity/estery with light hops for a belgian-mostly noble/german hops. lightly floral and light belgian yeast twang as well. flavors are sweet, lots of citric notes, funky yeast twang, light barnyard thing going and some light dusty ester. quite complex and i would say for a 7% BSA, this is pretty damn nice. long fruity finish with some light orange peal notes with a touch of lemon. complex and fun to drink.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 asheft (2032) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 27, 2006
[little bottle like in the picture]
Orange plus noble hops aroma with a touch of French oakiness--gentle, but very good. Pours a murky orangish light brown, but maybe with a careful pour and a very large glass, it can come much clearer: this one foams like any highly carbonated Belgian should! NIce rock head of dense shafing foam aloft bubbly nerf. Flavour: burboun, vanilla, ethanol, chocolate, toasted biscuits, woody bitterness, rock candy. Very effervescent; makes what would be a medium bodied beer light and refreshing--interesting way to balance this beer’s bigness. Only a little warming from alcohol.

From a 33 cl. slender bottle with no bottled/freshness date.
Poured a cloudy golden orange with frothy, foamy, creamy white head that slowly settled into a thin creamy lacing, fair amount of laced sticking.
Aromas of earthy, powdery yeast, pineapple fruitiness, Belgian sugariness and sweet pale malts.
Good carbonation and a crisp, velvety, carbonated smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Pleasant and tasty, tart citrus and pineapple, a light spiciness, a nice biting, but soft hop bitterness, a subtle earthy, musky yeastiness, a balancing sweet maltiness that mingles with a sugary alcohol, and a dry, fruity, sweet malty finish.
Just an wonderful Belgian ale, well worth trying.
