COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Golden color, precious white and plenty head, leaving a great and marked lace. Fresh aroma, with hints of alcohol, yeast, citric like bitter orange, and something that can’t identify. In mouth is very dry, a point of grape liquor, a little bit spicy...complex, but very well structured. It improves as it developed. Need more tastings, anyway.

APPEARANCE - Clear yellow, with a 5-finger light brown head that lasts. Some lacing. SMELL/AROMA/SCENT - Sweet, hoppy, herbaceous. TASTE - Nice bitter ale taste. Hoppy, piney, dry, malty, herbaceous. ABV a bit hidden MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Light, with the most carbonation I’ve ever experienced in an ale at this ABV level. VALUE - $10. - About average for a Belgian at a bar. OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Nice ale, very drinkable, not boozy at all.

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen 16/7-14. Yeasty and fruity with spicy and alcoholic notes, sweet, medium to full body with an oily texture. The finish is dry, bitter, fruity and yeasty with some alcoholic notes.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 3/2014. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright orange color with a huge 3 finger dense and rocky off white head with incredible retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon, apricot, citrus zest, pear, apple, white grape, candi sugar, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, apricot, citrus zest, pear, apple, white grape, candi sugar, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, apricot, citrus zest, pear, apple, white grape, candi sugar, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; with a great crisp malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly slick/prickly mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome Belgian strong pale ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; and extremely smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Mild aroma of honey, yeast, and grass. Caramel colored, cloudy, lots of carbonation with a lasting white well laced head. Taste of coriander, banana, and a hint of honey. Creamy feel, with a banana and spice finish.

Draught (flight) @ Fairbar, Aarhus. Pours cloudy amber with small white head. Clear aroma of fruit, flowers and yeast, with notes of malt and hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with clear notes of malt and fruit. Vinous and malty aftertaste. Lively carbonation. A good thing.
