COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Another tasty number from De Dolle. Damn this is a great brewery. Heavily carbonated, pours a nice cloudy light copper. Has that oxidized maltiness of a beer that has been around awhile in the aroma which tinges of caramel and honey. Some nice spiciness and warmth upon first taste Soft sugary mouth feel. This is truly seasonal and delicious on a chill spring day.

Easter beer and one of the Dolle classics. Brownish orange blonde colour, thick, off-white, rocky head leaving good lacing. Yeasty, grassy, honeyish, hay, apple, banana, spiciness; very fruity onset, orange and pineapple, estery, spicy yeastiness, full malt sweetness, honey touch, warming alcohol and herbal hops in the finish, sourish accent. Complex and robust like the other great Dolle beers. Used to be less strong and sweeter originally but I like the current version just as much.

Poured into Trappist glass a hazy blonde. Huge white head and lace. Aroma is fruity, mostly banana, Belgium yeast. Taste is banana, bready, yeast, and malty. Nice syrupy mouthfeel. Yeast in the finish.

Bottle at the brouwershuis, diksmuide. Clear blond eith a big white head. Fruity aroma; a little plastic and a bitter, alcoholic taste. Full body, silky texture and slightly alcoholic aftertaste.

Bottle @ home, thanks to Lukaduke. Pours a murky dull orange / light brown appearance with a foamy, light brown head. Aroma has a ton of bubblegum, straw / grass, banana, light apple, candy, and some white pepper. Heavy carabonation. Juicy, tropical fruity flavor with tons of bubblegum. Some acidity on the finish but overall pretty dry and herbal finish. Nice grassy hops. The carbonation may even be a bit too high. Nice beer overall.

Bottle. Wow. A nice surprise. Golden pour with good white head. Sweet aroma with hints of different fruits, banana and yeast. Sweet-bitter taste. Very nice and balanced combo. Great beer.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 330ml bottle poured in a chalice. 100% Belgian Strong Pale Ale DNA... A: Pours a yellow to orange color. A bit hazy. A huge thick white head is formed. Big bubbles. Excellent retention and many lacings left S: Complex. Sweet and very fruity, I would say. Quite malty and "bready" too. Honey, caramel malts, Belgium yeasts, cloves, vanilla, alcohol, ... T: Complex as the nose. Sweet fruity upfront, sweet malts, honey, Belgium yeasts, cloves, vanilla are a must. Delicious "hoppy" bitter end M: Heavy creamy body and high carbonation despite of the high ABV D: Delicious beer! My third De Dolle. This one is just excellent as the others [ BA Review @ 10/10/2010 ]

Pours a clear golden with a medium white head that leaves intense lacing. Nose is of peppery alcohol, spices and slight yellow fruits. Classic De Dolle. Taste is pretty much completely dry, gives out some nice pears and more alcohol. Body is medium and carbonation moderately low. Alcohol is felt at each level but sometimes this is the only thing you need. It leaves the mouth dry and the drinker happy. Overall this is pretty much a lighter (in body) Dulle Teve, not sure which I prefer but these crazy brewers sure know how to please!

Botella de 33 cl en el lúpulo mayo de 2012. Cuerpo medio con 10 vol. Color ámbar con sabores y aromas maltosos con toques lupulados y cierto regusto amargo. No esta mal, para repetir.

Bottle from 03/2014. Aroma: As sweet as you’d expect with both honey and cane sugar, but well balanced with floral notes and fruity esters such as pineapple and pear. Appearance: Murky caramel colored body with a huge light tan head that settles into a firm cap. Flavor: Wowzers… an unyielding explosion of fruity, yeasty sweetness up front. This is stiff stuff; you feel every bit of that 10%. Dries out comparatively well and leaves a lingering dry floral impression. Palate: Full body, creamy texture, effervescent carbonation, bitter/astringent finish. Overall: This was too harsh for me. I know the description says not to keep it "eternally," but I can’t help but think a few years might calm this down a bit.
