COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Foamer/gusher! Started to gush when I openned the bottle and I quick pours to get a full 16 oz. glass of off white foam. Slowly settles to a dark golden hazy liquid. Light malt, light cloves, light honey, light fruit aromas. Gentle aroma that makes you work. Amazing head that does not stop. While the aroma is light, the flavors are full frontal.Make no doubts this is a Belgian strong. Warming alcohol tickles the nose and like chinese mustard, your sinuses are clear to further ponder the aroma. Honey, pears, bananas, touch of bubble gum, kiwi and pineapple flavors meld and mingle in the mouth and mind. This is truely a winter warmer. Malt does, rather remarkably) come out late in the finish. Interesting indeed.

Bottled Amber coloured with rich lively head. Dry and nicely hoppy with resiny balanced bitter finish. Complex and very tasty.

Complex combination of sweet, sour yet dry taste has less developed tropical fruit flavers than the infamous Stille Nacht.

Thoroughly enjoyable belgian. Typical wonderful belgian aroma and appearance. Orange in color with a thin soapy head. Fairly sweet with a slight alcohol presence. Hints of honey and plums with a skight granny smith apple quality to it. Fine carbonation with a champaign feel to it. Overall a fine belgian creation.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2004 Big carbonated pour, resulting in a huge rocky head, and the yeasty half of the beer remained in the bottle. Beer is a nice orange-yellow color. Musty wonderful aroma of tobacco and fruit, much like a well known trappist ale. Palate is full, and smooh with alcohol, malt and a mustiness that also reminds me of the Trapists. This is one great brew and a definite De Dolle favorite!

(Bottle) Pour a cloudy golden orange body with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of perfume, earth, mustiness, banana, and toffee. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Complex flavor of yeast, spices, and fruits with a hint of wood and smoke.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2005 Happy rabbit!!! Perfumey, floral, orange hops and sweet candy-like malt in the soporific aroma. Opaque wet straw coloured body is topped by a fizzy but constantly replenishing, white head that leaves some lacing down the sides of the glass. Herbal hop flavour, lightly sour citrus-orange, burnt honey-like sweetness in the flavour with hints of alcohol and pleasant, mild, medicinal phenols. Lasting fruity and leafy flavours in the aftertaste. Moderately warming with medium-light body and champagne-like, strong carbonation that engages the tongue and cheeks. Tulip glass, cellar temp. Bottle (Julio’s, Mar. 2005).

Bottle from Super Saver. Turbid pale gold pour with big, 2-3-finger fluffy off-white head that says "Drink me, you scumbag". The aroma is very hopcitric, with a lot of floral and spicy hints, some yeasty , wheaty malt, and some peach/apricot. The palate is complex, lively, well balanced, with flavors of hopcitrus, funky peaty yeast, spicy florals, and a bit of pale fruits. This one is a standout.

Bottled - ABV 10%. Much foamy and bulky head, optimal adhesion, discreet duration. Extremely hazy and fraught orange color with optimal fizz... much elegant one. Incredible and strongest aroma, percepibile with the glass at a distance. Pleasant flowery and winy impact, with notes of must, alcohol, wine cellar, orange peel and dried flowers. Extremely stinging and lively taste. At the tasting it’s nearly balsamic in the nose with overbearing and agreeable flowery and fruit flavored aromas. Sweet, alcoholic, full, fraught and exceptionally perfumed. Very tasty.
