Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

from bottle. huge gusher. crystal clear golden with a huge fluffy ever growing white head. honey orange zest aroma with light clove. sweet orange and spicy clove dominate the flavor notes of hay. long sweet/tart cooked orange finish with lingering tart orange dry spicy clove. at first over the over the top carbonation explodes in your mouth leaving nothing but foam. quite unpleasant. given the chance to settle the carbonation becomes nice lively but not over the top. without the lively carbonation the beer would possibly seem heavy sweet and sticky.

Botella.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a lot of floaties and a ginormous head on there. Nose has some banana and wheat with a hint if clove to it. Taste is slightly sweet and quite yeasty.

Interesting Belgian ale, seemingly a strong pale. The spices along with malts and honey bring about an apple aroma and slightly in flavor too. Perfect carbonation, Belgian yeast and sugars. Good stuff.

2014 Philly Beer Week draft @ Jose Pistolas. Pours hazy pale amber with a 1-finger white head. Aroma is slightly sour, with mild citrus and some earthy yeast. Body is medium-to-full, and lightly syrupy. Flavors of citrus and stone fruit with some earthy yeast underneath.

Easter beer and one of the Dolle classics. Brownish orange blonde colour, thick, off-white, rocky head leaving good lacing. Yeasty, grassy, honeyish, hay, apple, banana, spiciness; very fruity onset, orange and pineapple, estery, spicy yeastiness, full malt sweetness, honey touch, warming alcohol and herbal hops in the finish, sourish accent. Complex and robust like the other great Dolle beers. Used to be less strong and sweeter originally but I like the current version just as much.
