trevitron (10), Washington DC, USA Jun 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light golden color with darker sediment. Smells vaguely of lemon and other citrus. Sparkling, carbonated taste of light sweet bitterness with hints of dry orange flavor. Very fizzy with pleasing carbonated aftertaste. A pacifying and relaxing intoxication follows. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Jun 7, 2008 11.2 oz from Knightly Spirits. This is one of my favorite Tripels. It pours the golden yellow/ orange color with a healthy very frothy head. The aroma is of caramel, apples (Granny Smith maybe?), I swear I smell whiskey, and sugar. The taste is much of the same with a sweet finish that is unique. I would definitely buy it if I could find it in more places. blipp (1618), Newark, New Jersey, USA May 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a beige head. Ripe apple aroma with nutmeg and caramel. Medium body. Body, flavor is spicier than the aroma with clove, nutmeg and apple. Very nice. JohnQPublic (387), Brooklyn, New York, USA May 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy dark gold, with a big, soft white head. Nose is honey, pears, yeast, alcohol. Taste is sweet, candy sugar with rich ripe fruit, with a spicy, yeasty finish with a restrained hop bitterness balancing out the sweetness, and more alcohol. Palate is crisp carbonation, with a nice syrupy, heavy body. Delicious beer. TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands May 23, 2008 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a big white head and a nice strong aroma of fresh picked berries, some oranges, grass and a caramellic notes. The taste is sweet and sticky with notes of overripe fruits, caramel and sugar syrup. The finish is a bit bitter and sticky sweet. A very nice tripel! sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 19, 2008 Tasted 4/28/08. 750ml from Deliliah’s in Chicago. Hazy with a golden hue. White head. Grassy and yeasty aromas. Full bodied and sweet. Butterscotch and chocolate. Nice dichotomy of dried and fresh fruity esters. Doughy and lemon citrus. Absolutly fabulous! Good burn. So good. So f’n good. dkachur (2313), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA May 15, 2008 Bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Downtown. Pours clear golden with big frothy head. GUSHER alert! Yeasty stone fruit aroma. Taste is caramel and fruitiness. Nice. pumpkinheart (63), Aurora, Illinois, USA May 14, 2008 Tap at The Bavarian Lodge, Lisle, IL into 12 oz. Tulip glass. A hazy gold-orange with a chunky white head that left magnificent Belgian lacing. Aroma was a mega-powerful blast of malty fruitiness. I smelled this long before the glass got to my nose. The flavor was an absolutely crazy, yeasty, malt-fruit with a significant alcohol tingle-burn all around the palate. The alcohol runs out in front of all things: aroma, taste, palate. The mixture of flavors that I admittedly coudn’t distinguish because it was such a menagerie were shocking at times. Definately a sipper that left me, not a small man, mind you, a bit light-headed by the end. I’ll almost certainly try this from the bottle for the comparison and am glad to have had the rare chance to taste this from the tap. Other than that, I may not drink this again. It was a fun experience, but maybe too extreme a ride for my regular enjoyment.
