COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Bottle at home, one year old. Murky light brown with barely any head, just some big bubbles. Lots of cane sugar and pears. Spices, licorice, cinnamon buns, banabread, ice tea, bitter herbs, wort, long cooked English hops, and lime peel. Quite sweet, but with a medium bitter finish that balances it nicely. Medium to full bodied. Very strange beer, big. bold and somehow it seems like it’s not fully fermented.

Pours golden with off-white head - very good retention. Aroma is yeasty fruitness - some pear, apple (but nice, not green-apple of flavour), some tropical fruits as well. No phenolic note, spices are low. This aroma is excelent. Taste is dry but not watery, fruitness, some light caramel sweetness. This is world class tripel.

Cerveza con un aroma muy profundo, como a huerta y a campo, pero luego no es nada floral, tiene como un toque ahumado y un poco a miel y sobre todo frutas. Dejarla reposar un rato y gana mucho. Repetiría sin problemas.

Bottle. Murky honey poor, large foam head, almost like an unfiltered saison. Typical Dolle aroma of sugar/kandij, mixed with a lovely sour blend of apricots, cloves, nutmeg, anise, yeast/cheese. Yeast deposit reveals pear. Great stuff. Taste is anise, overwhelmingly. Also pear, a hint of mint, licorice...is this still a triple? Very hearty, very robust, doughy, quite a heavy taste (and maybe a little boozy even). Slightly sticky aftertaste. One is enough.
