Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

A nose of grass, citrus and butter. Taste is buttery, salty, candylike, and with a bit too much alcohol. Maybe I shouldn’t rate brews of the style tripel - I always find them boring and overrated.

Bottle. Pours hazy brownish orange with a big fluffy white head. Despite careful pouring still got lots of chunky sediment. Nose has strong aromas of yeast and orange/citrus. Flavour is complex and is quite spicy with notes of citrus, ginger, clove, dried apricot and malt. Full bodied with a long finish, its also quite dry and bitter but with a balancing sweetness that is just about right. A great beer that works on many different levels.

Barely chilled:Not a gusher. Dark golden. Careful pour still releases a big fat head. Aroma is grassy hops ,phenolic, with big waves of candi sugar and malt. Fizzy, medium to thick texture. Upfront flavors are metallic(at first-rust),peppery,lightly grassy, with big pale malt. Following are nice sweet bread, flavors and more peppery, clovey, yeast flavors. Complex finish of grassy hops, pale malt, and the yeast is a slight afterthought, though stands out in the rest of the beer. Sweet and dry. As usual great lacing and head retention from a De Dolle product. After finishing lingering candi sugar and gummy yeast. Never really a sign of alcohol even after approaching room temp. Could drink much of this though it will sneak up on you. Up there with the best, although I have a bias for this brewery.

(bottle) pours a murky dark amber colour with a frothy off-white head and good lacing. very unusual aroma of citrus, powdered sugar and vanilla, peanuts, fermented cherries and balsamico. flavour is the same, with notes of grainy malts, wheat and kidney beans. medium body and carbonation with a grainy warming finish. didn’t really know what to think of this.

Nice looking beer. The nose is malty with some bourbon, I do not catch the corriander as some of the reviews note. A thick palate, first thing is brown sugar flavor. A very complex flavor. Dried fruit, some alcohol, yeasty. It lacks some bitterness, needed for balance. Sweet clean finish.

Unfiltered straw. Uniform medium-small bubble foam. Nice retention. Aroma sweet yet citrusy. Strong alcohol, but softly warm. Very well balanced. Mouthwatering prickly all over the tongue. Symphonic. Alcohol numbs tongue. In a nice way(!) Not my style though. Tough in the long drink.
