Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

330 ml bottle - a little hair of the dog with this mad bitch this morning; mild gusher leading to huge, eggy white head once poured; dark orange with haze from the yeast residue and bubbling carbonation; musky aromas of orange, lemons, spicy sweetness, grassy hops; spice a little harsh at first with grassy, old malt kind of flavor; slight fruit and hoppy kick; pretty bitter with spice just barely trumping the sweetness; maybe get a little ginger too; just a tad too much spice for me to push it to the top

Beer tasting at wine world. The wife really dug this (not me). Too sweet for my taste and its more expensive than other better tripels?

11.2 oz bottle. Active legs. Cloudy golden pour with a long lasting large bubbled pure white head. Fruity aroma of grape, sour apple, with spices and a drier hop (maybe saaz) note. Wow, this is an excellent tripel. Bready yeasty, nice carbonation level. For the style, this is top notch. Impressed!

Pours dirt-gold. Aroma of pastries, pears, baked apples, with a little yeast to funk things up a bit. Tastes sweet with flavors of dessert pastries, spice, grass, sugar, and grapes. Finishes drier, but the dessert flavor lingers in an uncloying way. Full bodied. Nice!

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 19 Sep 2009) Cloudy golden colour with a frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus peel, tropical fruit and a hint of yeast. Malty, fruity taste with tropical fruit (pineapple, mango), citrus peel and a spicy finish with a touch of yeast and warming alcohol. Full body, with some alcohol sweetness. Generous spicy bitterness. Very nice beer.

A beer that smelled good tasted good but was a bit of a gusher. The brown sugar on the nose and the flavor dominate this beer. A pretty tasty offering even with the gush.

A nose of grass, citrus and butter. Taste is buttery, salty, candylike, and with a bit too much alcohol. Maybe I shouldn’t rate brews of the style tripel - I always find them boring and overrated.

Bottle. Pours hazy brownish orange with a big fluffy white head. Despite careful pouring still got lots of chunky sediment. Nose has strong aromas of yeast and orange/citrus. Flavour is complex and is quite spicy with notes of citrus, ginger, clove, dried apricot and malt. Full bodied with a long finish, its also quite dry and bitter but with a balancing sweetness that is just about right. A great beer that works on many different levels.
