Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Pours a hazy orange with a dense, one finger head that lingered until the beer was gone. The nose was a heavy funky yeast, almost like what the vitamins my grandmother made me take when I was a kid mixed with dirt. The flavor is sweet and yeasty, a lot like the nose. The finish isn’t too bad and lingers for a while, the yeast fades leaving the sweet spice that the yeast covered. This is a well made beer from a brewery I seem to like but it doesn’t seem to do it for me, it may have been because I ate shellfish earlier.

Draft: Medium sized white head when poured from the pitcher. Good retention and solid lacing. Hazy blond, coppery hued brew. Nose is spicey, grassy with some yeasty notes as well. Body is medium, well carbonated, lightly creamy. Citrus flavors, spices, light honey notes and a bit doughy, medium sweet malts and nicely fruity. Finish is fairly dry, spicey and lasting. Nice Tripel! Enjoyed @statelineliquors last Belgian tasting. 11/10/07 Thanks Robert!

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a crispy off-white head. Sharp alcohol and barley aroma, wineous and strong yeasty spiced. Flavour is powerfull sweet cane sugarish malty and with a subtle set of yeast spices. Finish holds a warming sugarish and alcohol dense flavour and quite warming.

Bottle shared with yespr. Pours a hazy orange colour with floaties. Big creamish good lasting white head. Aroma of alcohol, caramel, dark fruits and some yeast. The flavour is sweet with yeast, dark fruits, alcohol, some spice and bitter hops. Thanks Jesper.

The aroma was exciting with a hint of sour, that I was a little disapointed did not come through in the flavor more. At first taste I was surprised by the sweetness that that lasted through the very pleasent warmth of the alchol. Over all I was glad I opened this bottle to enjoy tonight.

Pours a humongoid-sized inch and a half white head over a golden body. Heavy carbonation is evident from fervent bubbles that continue tenacity. Strong yeast in the nose; past-ripe fruit and sweet honey are noted as well. Lacing coats the glass, yearning to be assimilated. Flavors include sweet grapefruit, subtle wheat, more honey, raisins, spices, mild caramel, and other fruits. Full-bodied palate, lively carbonation. The sweet, sticky palate and consistency up front is demolished in the finish with warm alcohol. Not the most drinkable, but still a great beer by a great brewery. One of the better Tripels I’ve tasted.

11.2 oz bottle. Complex and engaging, this tripel moved to the top of my tripel list within three sips and remained there. Cloudy golden pour with a white, diminishing head. Big, juicy aroma of chewy fruits — grapes, cherries, raisins, plums, mango — and sweet brown sugar and malts — cookies and bread. The flavor is heavily sweet and moderately bitter. Finishes sweet, but then leaves a long, slightly bitter sensation on the tongue. Medium body and velvety texture. Slightly sticky. Pure enjoyment. Thanks Santa.

Draft at Eulogy, Philadelphia. Deep golden with a thin top. Sweet sugary aroma. Drinks with that syrupy backdrop, honey, and maybe a pinch of corriander spiciness. Fully bodied. Delicious. (#3182, 11/8/2007)
