Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Hazy, yellow with white, bright head with lasting laces. Aroma is yeasty and citrusish, almost bordering on artificial lemon. It’s very fruity in taste, most promenently with notes of lemon and sour green apples, it is also yeasty and spicy. The beer has a suprisingly bitter hoppy taste to it, even too much in my opinion.

11.2 oz bottle: Hazy gold pour with a sticky white head. The nose is initially fruity, with notes of concord grapes, black cherries, raisens and lemon. A blanket of sweet caramel and dough lies beneath. Almost like a fruit covered sweet danish. The body is creamy and just as complex as the nose. Vanilla, caramel and butterscotch are abound here. Finishes sweet with white sugar and other caramelized sugars. Very, very good.

(bottle): Pours a brown color. Frothy white head. Strong banana aroma, clove & spices. Some alcohol, complex aroma. Fizzy mouthfeel, spices, some banana. Clean aftertaste. Sweet and nutty. Watery as it warms up.

(33cl bottle, received from bierkoning more than a year ago) Hazy, orange coloured hue with loads of yeast-floaties and a huge, almost white frothy head. Slightly dusty, moderately sweet and fruity (citrus, apples) malt aroma with a distinctive vinous touch, accompanied by spicy herbal notes. Sweet flavour with sourish fruity accents, full bodied with a lively carbonation. Full malty body, moderately yeasty with a pleasant fruit-character (apples, grapes, citrus); sweet malty, slightly tart fruity finish with a light but balancing hoppy touch and a remarkable alcohol management. Very good !

Draft at Eulogy in Philadelphia, PA. Pour golden amber with a white head. Bold aroma of yeast, spice, and citrus. Medium bodied with a fine grainy texture. Very bold flavors of belgian pale malts and anise, with some orange mid palate. Finish is yeasty with some white pepper. Does not have that annoying overwhelming rubbing alcohol that other tripels have. Not bad, but still a sipper and a palate killer. Save this for a nitecap

Hazy orange yellow. has a white foamy head. Aroma has fruits, yeast, pepper and peach. Also some metal. Flavor is peppry, metalic, fruity and sweet. Is quite round and pleasent but has maybe to much of a harsh feeling because of the pepper flavor.

Pours a slightly cloudy gold with a nice head. The aroma is filled with spices... I notice mustard, coriander and citrus notes. Really refreshing smell. The flavor has a lot of spice on the front, but has nice sweet and crisp finish. Very similar to the Smijse beers... if I had tasted it blind, wouldn’t have pegged it as a De Dolle. But still, another excellent creation from an excellent brewery.

Mad Bitch beer chosen in honor the Mad Witch fire going on in San Diego right now. $5 12oz bottle from Hi-Time. Big 3 finger white head head that won’t die, much like the smoke from a fire. The fire (liquid) is a yellow amber color. Lots of little floaties (ash). The head settles to a masterful thick creamy microbubble head with thick remnant blobs clinging to sides of the glass.. The head is a little reminiscent of Orval’s head. Aroma is a little cardboard/hay, some corriander, some orange. Alchohol is pretty well hidden. Kind of odd tannic bitterness that works with the beer. Leans sweet.
