Bottle. Strongly citric aroma. The white head was hardly there. Golden amber color with small floaters. Medium bodied. Vigorous carbonation. Mixed flavors of citrus, light molasses, plum pits, clove, peaches, and maybe other stuff. As the sweetness slips away, there is a bitterness attributable to hops. Finally an astringency develops. The mouth continues to tingle. There is some heat, but it is hardly noticeable against the complex flavors which seem to constantly change. Very nice.

Hazy yellow with a thick white head. Citrus and yeasty notes. Sweet, malty and some fruit. Full body with a long, warming finish.

Flaske. Kæmpeskum på denne øl. Hele glasset blev fyldt. Lidt mere rødlig end andre trippels, men ellers flot. Meget spicy syrlig smag, der ikke skjuler alkoholen på enbalanceret måde, hvilket trækker ned. Lidt skuffet, men stadig en rigtig god øl.

Citrusy yeast aroma. Sexy tall fluffy head that proudly rises out of the glass, strong carbonation. Hazy pale golden color. Simply amazing flavor. The classic banana appears in peaks and valleys and is joined with caramel, plum, and cinnamon. Once i drank 2/3 of the bottle i swirled the remaining liquid to lift up the sediment and poured the rest in the glass to turn it a shade darker toward brown. It then became more fierce and bitter with a musty aroma, overpowering yeast flavor, and warm finish down into my chest. Sensational.

Unfortunately I did not take any detailed tasting notes when I had this at the Brugge Beertje. I put a big smiley face next to it in my notes and that’s about it. Must re-rate!

re-rate from 7-year old bottle at Merritt Island Throwdown. Cloudy, honey-gold with hazy milk-colored layer on top. Nose of fruit basket with bananas, nutmeg, and other pie spice. Detectable alcohol, grainy character, thins out in the finish. Mild, soft, chewy palate. 9-4-8-4-15 = 4.0 no changes to overall score!

11.2 oz bottle. No freshness date. Hazy golden with a massive meringue like head. Head dissipates slowly and leaves a thick coating of lace in it’s path.

Aroma is sweet orange, pineapple, lemon, honey, and some spice.

Flavor starts off sweet, peaches drizzled in honey, spicy clove, bread. Finishes dry with a pleasant hoppy bitterness. Alcohol was hidden quite well.

This poured a golden yellow with a large white fluffly head that was well retained. The head left a lot of lacing all around the glass. The aroma was of sweet fruits, orange, lemon zest, spices, and yeast. The sweet fruits are upfront in the taste with peaches, oranges, and bananas. I also get some sweet malts and some caramel in there along with spices. It is medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel that finishes clean and spicy with some alcohol warmth. This is one tasty brew that is really easy to drink especially for being 10%. All the flavors are incredibly well balanced. Another great beer from De Dolle.
