TheEpeeist (1427), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 19, 2007 11.2 oz bottle. At least a year old. Hazy gold with sustaining white fluff. Sweet and sour nectarine with some duck sauce and lemon yeast. Sudsy carb with a sharp tang. Unripe apricot and dry woody caramel. Alcohol comes out toward the end. Clean finish with light citrus peel. thenick (742), North Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 15, 2007 Pours like a typical tripel, a hazy golden orange color with a nice, low white head. Aroma is of banana, clove, and candy sugar. Taste is incredibly smooth, with banana, clove, malt, and candy sugar thrown in, with a nice lilting finish. Great example of a tripel and yet another winner from De Dolle. robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jul 12, 2007 330ml bottle from dsnowden, thank you!
cloudy orange color, hue white head, wicked lacing on my glass. Aroma is big on pear, apple, and yeast, Flavour is much of the same. Very nice tripel., well made and VERY flavourful! nice stuff, and at 10%, wow the alcohol is VERY well hidden. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA Jul 12, 2007 Bottle. Orange copper, huge billowy white head. Aroma is sweet and slightly sour. Alcohol aroma evident. Initial taste is strong malty sweet with notes of oxidation. Toasty bready tripel-like taste. Some honey flavors. Robust flavor here. Maybe slightly oxidized but serves to compliment the complexity toward finish. Very good. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Jul 9, 2007 Bottle at home ... light golden orange ... bright fruity belgian triple hop, lots of mouth fizz, orange bitter hop, lots of flavour. lovely up front but quite bitter in linger. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 9, 2007 The color was and orange/yellow and had floating sediment. The head was creamy, frothy, foamy, and off-white. The aroma was fruity, playdough, a little sour, salty, and citris. The flavor was earthy, bitter, alcoho, aged, and musky. The palate was lively and the finish, warm. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 8, 2007 Updated: Oct 8, 2007Poured a dark hazy amber. More consistency than most of the recent tripels I’ve had. The head is thick, off white, quickly receding, and creamy. The aroma is sweet, slightly spicy, candyish, and a slight sourness. The flavor is very strong, spicy, dry alcohol, hot feel, Belgian sourness. The palate is warm and well carbonated and it finishes hot. LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 8, 2007 I wish the aroma of this beer was a little stronger so it would score in the fours. Aroma of alcohol and strong spice. Pour was was a murky orange with a thin little ring for a head. Taste was unlike any tripel I’ve had. The spices in this beer were strong and defining. A little yeast in the background. Sour and tart finish that was a great suprise. Delicious
