Bloekie (149), Belgium Aug 22, 2009 Blonde beer with a foamy head. Taste is sweet and bitter. Very refreshing! evergreen0199 (259), London, Greater London, England Aug 20, 2009 Bottle. Hazy orange pour with thick fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet, spicey and rich. Quite sweet, fruity, caramel, spicy taste. Delicious Belgian Tripel which I would drink regularly. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Aug 17, 2009 Bottle at PIB. Poured a hazy dark yellow with a tan head and solid lacing. Aroma was hefty on clove, pepper, candi sugar and coriander. Flavor is spicy with clove, coriander, pepper, some nice bitter citrus hop notes but balanced by candi sugar sweetness. The mouthfeel is bubbly and effervescent. Loved the beer, loved the name. Would drink again in a heartbeat. Adenila (931), Denmark Aug 11, 2009 Bottle from Brd D.
Hazy golden towards orange with loads of sediment. Fluffy creamy everlasting white head. Aroma is very spicey with notes of coriander, citrus and white candy suger. Carbonated palate. Quite bitter for a tripel with some dry hop notes and sugery sweetness and a good amount of alchohol both in the flavor and finish, which is quite warming. thirdeye11 (403), Texas, USA Aug 9, 2009 (330ml bottle) Pours a murky orange with yeast at the end. Huge 4 finger head that lingers forever. Nose is extremely complex, pear, candi sugar, alcohol, dried fruit. Taste is also extremely complex. Biscuity sweet, raisins, light hops but zero bitterness (good!) with a perfect carbonation and body. The linger on the palette is absolutely delicious but towards the end of my glass it is maybe SLIGHTLY too carbonated and sweet. Probably the best tripel I have had. Snojerk321 (1913), San Diego, California, USA Aug 4, 2009 Bottle from South Bay Drugs. Pours deep orange with a good amount of haze. An enormous frothy off white head in the tulip glass, spotty lacing. Big nose of Belgian yeast, citrus, banana, green apples. Flavor also held many of the same qualities, lots of apple. Very carbonated mouth feel, light booze and tons of yeast on the finish. alagnak (293), Littleton, Colorado, USA Aug 4, 2009 Another de dolle gusher when opened. Aroma has a lot going on: cotton candy, slight citric, and signature De Dolle yeast. Taste is apples, peaches and a yeasty caramel roll taste upfront, with a middle of warm alcohol burn with a hint of bitterness. Finish is slightly dry and slightly herbaceous. Really interesting and well constructed take on a tripel. mkunz (18), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 2, 2009 Medium head, golden orange color. Aroma was coriander, citrus fruit, slightly smokey, sweet, root beer candy. Taste was yeast, spices, ginger, pepper, granny smith apples, alcohol, and a slightly bitter finish. Very good beer and there was plenty more in there we couldn’t quite figure out.
