Fin (3376), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jul 1, 2007 Poured golden with haze, with an aroma of yeast and spices. The taste was a full frontal attack that zipped through the taste buds. Yes this beer was sweet but despite this and it’s strength which was also there throughout, this beer had enough bitterness to create a super diversion and really was a classy number. corby112 (671), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 25, 2007 cloudy golden color with nice white head. has a strong alcohol aroma and taste. Nice fruity taste with a sweet finish. smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA Jun 25, 2007 pours golden with big fluffy head that sticks. aroma is some clove, banana, pear, a little green apple, candied sweetness, ripe fruit, and some peppery hop. taste is very spicy which consists of some clove and generous amounts of black pepper. flavor is like a spicy banana with some candied sweetness and carbonated smooth full mouthfeel. finish is spicy with some lingering sweetness. another good one from de dolle brouwers. GilBier (75), Dendermonde, Belgium Jun 20, 2007 Intens golden blond beer with the most beautiful white head on top. Aroma is strong with typical Tripple caracteristics. It has a slight dry fruity touch in the nose, it is stong and hoppy and has some hints of infuzed flowers. Taste is strong and refreshing but oh so dangerous, I drink this stuff from de fridge, when it warm up it begins comming to heavey. Nice powerful stuff from De Dolle. imzugzug (103), Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 17, 2007 Repulsive!! I cannot believe the high overall rating of this beer. It’s completely undrinkable. Aroma upon opening this one was alcohol, alcohol, alcohol. Taste is exactly the same, alcohol and an astringent slickness that I’ve never experienced before. I’d swear that this was a bad bottle except the bar that I bought it at is one of the best beer bars on earth. This liquid is definitely not something I’d drink again...more like something I’d pour on a wound! And yeah, the $8 I spent on this doozie, made me a Mad Bitch. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Jun 14, 2007 Pours a hazed golden blond with a healthy, relatively dense offwhite head, thinning to a dense film. The nose is big and sweet! I get orange blossom honey, a little bit of cinnamon.
Not too thick, not too thin. Low carbonation and a bit of a thinness to the body make this rather smooth.
Again, big big sweetness. Honey. Dries out very quickly like a minerally white wine. A bit of appley yeasty tartness lend this delightful balance, in accord with the noticeable alcohol. Lends a lightness t othe palate in the finish and a warming. Really smooth with a hint of the butterscotch diacetyl. The finish is lingering and dry with some diacetyl and alcohol. I can’t remember having such a cloying tripel ever, but I also can’t remember having such a good tripel. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Jun 9, 2007 Bottle in Westmalle glass. Pours light amber with lasting head of medium density, not much lacing. Several floaters. Not sure what that means but it’s not good for appearance/presentation. Faintly tart aroma but mostly yeast and honey-like sweetness. Flavors of honey and tobacco with some yeasty esters, very delicious but seems to have aged out the spiciness I remember. Nice soft mouthfeel from small bead carbonation. Overall an excellent beer, but I’ve had better triples and I’m sure I’ve had better Dulle Teves oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Jun 6, 2007 Bottled. Hazy oranger colour, mediumsized beige creamy head. Aroma is smooth fruits, yeast and spices. Flavour is yeasty, fruity, slightly hoppy and a bit spicy. Wellbalanced and pleasant.
