Aroma of orange peel, sugar, licorice, clove, and dried apricot. Intense citrusy, floral, malty flavors with hints of spices and a bit of pepper. Flavors of sweet roasted/bready malts, candy sugar, and fresh fruit: pineapple, citrus, some light spiciness. Everything is made even more intense by the alcohol. Very soft, champagne-like mouthfeel. A really intense and powerful beer. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA

Pours a slightly hazy dark golden with a very large long lasting white head that leaves great lacing. Aroma of De Dolle yeast, citrus, light caramel, and earthy hops. Taste is the same as aroma with a very spicy and tasty yeasty goodness. Slightly sweet medium mouthfeel with good hop bitterness to balance. Alcohol is very well hidden. Another wonderfull beer from De Dolle. fonefan (11001), VestJylland, Denmark

Cloudy yellow / orange color with a average frothy good lacing mostly diminishing white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy yeast, bubble gum, heavy fruity, some caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bartzilla (443), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2007 From the bottle. With all the De Dolle ales sampled this evening, this proved to be the most unique and satisfying. The body was backed by thick yeastiness and the flavor was smooth, strong, yet the alcohol was not very noticeable. This would be a danger beer if it weren’t for the pricing. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Another winner from the masters of yeast. Golden and very cloudy with a giant, huge, enormous head. Aroma of yeast, malt, citrus, honey, and coriander. Flavor was similar except the yeast was wonderful. Alcohol was barely noticeable. The chunks of yeast floating around are a little weird but do not interfere with taste or palate. mkofron (155), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Cloudy golden color. Sweety citrusy, with some alcohol peeking through. Full bodies... very good beer. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 22, 2007 Poured an orangish-straw color with a tall rocky white head that leaves behind some lacing in irregular swaths. Aroma has a definite sweetness to it, but the aroma isn’t a one-trick pony like most tripels. There’s an earthy spice component akin to a saison present, but the overall aromatic impression is heavier than a saison. Mouthfeel is thick. Taste is slightly hot, with some spice present, and a good deal of sweet. An interesting tripel. Not much of the De Dolle funk present, at least in the vein of brews like Oerbier, but still a unique brew. scanovajr (361), Stanford, California, USA
