Jerre (1755), Waregem, Belgium Mar 11, 2007 Bottle, 33 cl. It was a long time ago i’ll taste this beer.
Dark blond to light amber color with a white head. Aroma is wheat, orange ?, yeast. Flavour is yeast, alcohol, orange, sweet, and little spices. Full body.
Taste is sweet but not too, good bitterness en dry end. The best we drunk yesterday.
DrHomolka (722), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 10, 2007 Pours into a Trappist glass with a gigantic white head that leaves sudsy lace and a bright, light golden color with some sediment at the bottom. Aroma of yeast, bread, vanilla, mild fruits. Smell is pleasant but subdued. Has a smooth, tingly mouthfeel with some alcohol in the taste and a little bitterness. Good. EHSRanders (1121), Randers C, Denmark Mar 3, 2007 Updated: Apr 25, 2008Bottle. Golden hazy colour with a lot of sediment and very large head. Spicy flavor but too much alcohol. Nice lasting aftertaste. Much better this time. I’am more familiar with high alcohol beers. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Mar 1, 2007 Light fruit, slight spice and yeast dominate the aroma.Pours a hazy light copper with a large white head.Yeast and alcohol come thru in the flavor.Thin to medium mouthfeel with some strong alcohol in the finish. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA Mar 1, 2007 Sour aroma with some sweet malt in the back. Hazy golden yellow color sports a medium palate. Sweet malt flavor up front with some yeast. A unique tripel. reakt (938), Greater London, England Feb 26, 2007 Updated: Sep 2, 2007Bottle from Uto - Amber with a Mt. Everest of a head. A strong spicy aroma of tropical fruits - apricot, dates, pineapple and passion fruit. Taste of salt, cloves, pineapple, apricot and a great deal of alcohol. This stuff is FIERCE. Complex, but well balanced. Get in, go mad! muenster (339), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA Feb 26, 2007 Bottle. Pours hazy amber/copper with a massive bubbly head. Aroma is a wonderful combination of spicy yeast, cloves, banana, mild fruity notes, and a slight tartiness. Flavor is much the same, and with a slight warming finish from the alcohol. Wharfrat (18), USA Feb 25, 2007 The pour is all about the big head. The tripel means the head is triple the size of the beer. It just grows as you pour, then grows some more.
It is a pretty golden hazy color with little bubbles.
The aroma is funky and fruity. Like in a barn full of apples.
The taste is complex, fruity, funky, maybe a little smoky. The alcohol is evident. The beer has a strong aftertaste- it just stays in your mouth.
It is a nice beer to sip on. I like it.
