Murky golden brown color with a big fluffy white head. Tastes of fruity sweetness carried by a texture that’s slightly oily and creamy. All in all this is a must have beer. Sticky lace with very spicy/yeasty aromas. Mango, papaya, lime and lemon top notes, more tropical fruit and even some pineapple. A touch of warming follows all of these bringing with it intense spices of cardamon, clove, and ginger. Creamy texture with a lovely wheaty body and spiciness up front. Fresh tropical fruit mingling with warm baking spices. Ginger, clove, black pepper mingle with a soft spearmint flavour on the back. Sweet Belgian malt bring the yeast and fruitiness together. Warming intensifies the spice and softens the fruit. Waves and waves of alternating sweet spice, tropical fruit and tart acidity just make this a world class example of the brewer’s art. Amazing beer. TURDFERGUSON (1597), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2006 Bottle. Golden orange hue with agressively carbonated white head. Nose is orange, pineapple, guava, mango, a little spices, and some yeast. Love the aroma. Flavor is initially sweet with the fruits and then a bit sharper with more bready and yeasty notes along with a pleasent alchohol bite. This is a great beer. So far, my palate has not agreed with de dolle beers, but this one--i likey. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Poured out dark-yellow/copper with a typically huge De Dolle Brouwers head. The head wouldn’t fade either, it just sat there. Nice tripel-aromas, sweet with enough hops to balance it. Very yeasty & bready, with some vanilla. Taste was sweet, not much bitterness. Loads of alcohol noticable - which went well with this beer and amplified the malty bready sweetness. Thick mouthfeel, almost cloying, with alot of carbonation. A very well made, large, heavy & bold tripel. Arayaga2 (946), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2006 Reasonable loking yellow with nicely suspended sediment and big white head. Aroma is sweet and tangy which carries over into the flavor. Alcohol is apparent throughout, and burns at the finish. 11.2ozs/$4.10 marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA

Bitter throughout, slight citrusy orange peel. Slight cheese flavor. Sweet up front. Some spiciness. Strong carbonation. Sharp on the tongue and then mellows. Alcohol smolders as it gos down. Good overall. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 11, 2006 Updated: Oct 15, 2007Hazy golden with a perfect head, rich and frothy. Tropical fruits and coriander aromas. Flavor is immediately sharp, but not abrasive. Perfumey and spicy, lemon zest, pear, maybe some wheat. Briskly carbonated and dry in the mouth, distantly sour, evolving dynamically as it warms. Really quite nice.
Updated. A very old bottle of unknown vintage at the Brickskeller. Pours murky and golden yellow, towering foam. Aroma of the perfect apple cider; tart, spicy, and rich. Caramel, pure honey, almond and maple syrup in their sweet and perfect essences. Tastes of french toast, lightly dusted with nutmeg and cardamom. Detailed and dense. Hints at garlic, pineapple, fruit liqueurs, and cotton candy. Slick and heavy in hte mouth with a sage-like bite of bitterness. Very warm finish. Entirely unique, and unforgettable.
