Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Another beer that an old friend brought over for a night of tasting. Incredible aroma of yeast, some apricots, flowers. Hazy orange-amber hues. Very nice, very hard to find. The Mad Bitch is a nice trippel.

bottle - Brigids (Philadelphia) - one of my favorite tripel’s. Not overly clovey or bannanany - crisp, full malt body with great hops to back it up. Only minor complaint was that it was a bit fizzy and the mouthfeel could have been a bit softer. Other than that, this rivals La Chouffe fresh over there.

pours a translucent copperish color, with a gigantic white foamy head, aroma of sweet malts, citrus and belgian style spices, the flavor is spicey and sweet with a dry finish, alcohol is present in the flavor as well, good solid body, decent brew.

Bottled. Extremely alive, abundant and bulky head. Persistent and impenetrable cream, optimal duration. Orange clearly color, much torbid and hazy one. Richest and powerful scent; honey notes, spices, wine cellar and flowers with an overbearing and decided alcohol. Much fizzy and solid taste. Impossible (for me at least) drink large swig. Dense and too much alcoholic. A lot perfumed and balsamic in the nose. Long, warm and persistent end. Too much excesses.

2002 bottle. mostly clear & bright golden yellow color with lots of fizz. voluptuous white merangue head, with peaks like egg whites beat by an electric mixer. aroma is sweet bready, yeasty malt, lemon & pineapple. flavor is spicy and candi sugar malt, some dryness and a bit of alcohol. dry/sweet aftertaste that is well balanced. kind of like a white wine aftertaste. a little fresh lemon peel too. well worth the wait!

33cl bottle Hazy goleden with lots of head. Sweet yeasty aroma. Great flavor with sweet citrus and spice. Lots of yeast. Fished suprisingly dry and bitter. A very interesting triple. Not sure if i could drink a lot of this.

(12.28.05) 11.2 oz (330 mL) brown bottle purchased from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. 10% ABV. Overly carbonated hazy golden yellow Belgium ale that nearly exploded out of my chilled bottle when opened. Brewing error or infection? Very frothy. Sweet fruity aroma. Light-to-medium bodied that starts dry with fruity, earthy, sour, leathery flavors. Finishes dry with slight medicinal (adhesive bandage) flavors. Some alcoholic warmth noted. Though not my favorite De Dolle beer, this is an interesting drinkable Belgium ale. Not for the timid.
