Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Tulip poured on draft at the map room (Chicago, IL). Good time with cgarvieuk and daknole. Pours a golde slightly hazed hue with moderate white bubbly head that dissipates to a film. Aromas are sweet, honey and slight belgian yeast and good fruity esters. Taste is similar, pushing sweetness, light florals, and honey and belgian sweetness over. Pear and apple, with just faint banana. Body is good, sweetness pervails. A very good beer, just not necessarily my thing.

Bottle. Pours a translucent amber with huge head. Lots of floaties, typical of bottle conditioned ales. Lots of fruity esters on the nose, but a lot of alcohol too. On the tongue it’s sweet malts at first and then bitter hops on the backside. I like that. The alcohol doesn’t have as strong a presence on the palate as it did on the nose. Overall this is a good brew, and i’d recommend it. Cool label too.

On Tap @ The Maproom Saturday. Love De Dolle stuff, and never got around to this on. Also love the name. Hazy yellow golden beer with creamy off-white head. Aroma is filled of bananas, apricots, yeast and notes of spices. Tastes very malty, yeasty and notes of oak. The aftertaste is hoppy, spicy and the alcoholic taste very well balanced. Nice but prefer a stronger darker belgian beer.

Smells sweet and fruity. Taste is fruit yeast and some spice. This is a fine tripel. The body is thick. I will be trying this again.

Bottle, 33 cl. Lovely golden colour with a nice white head. Nice fruity aroma. Tastes like gold, no serious, like citrus and other fruits and yeast. Excellent triple. Nothing more to say.

The aroma is rather complex, you got your yeast, fruits and then some spices with some sweetness. Hops in the taste balance this out quite nicely. Excellent tripel, have to try again for a rerate to see how it stands now.
