4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Opening the bottle involved two tools of the trade: bottle opener and corkscrew. Even after the cap was liberated, the beast was screaming to get out -- attempting to burst through the cork. Once unleashed, foam proceeded to erupt. In short, she needed some time to process the situation before allowing me to indulge. Appearance: explosive effervescence, and an enormous bright white head -- diminishing with time leaving a clingy lace and a good film to lock in the flavor. The color was golden; hazy with lots of carbonation rising to the top. The aroma is of bubblegum (strong), fruity fresh and very full. Taste is full, sweet, with a spicy biting middle and a dry finish (quite complex); the bitterness ligers well into the next taste. Mouth feel is medium bodied, syrupy, and effervescent. The transition from sweet to dry is intensified by its intense bitter characteristics
This is a lively beer with a lot of character. Intense. Nothing laid back. I enjoyed much of the experience, but could not really get beyond some of the overpowering bitterness. Otherwise quite remarkable.

Aroma, bonito color dorado, espuma blanca, burbujita y persistente.

330 ml bottle shared with the metallurgist. Golden yellow with white head. Aroma mainly of Belgian yeast, candy, bananas and other esters, but the yeast dominates. Taste is powerful and pleasant, malt, yeast and esters in a nice balance.

De barril. Color dorado turbio. Buen gas. Aroma a azúcar y fruta madura, algo de alcohol. En boca, dulce pero algo de acidez al final, muy frutal y fresca. El alcohol bien escondido. Muy rica.

Bottle bought some place I don’t remember. Pours hazy deep golden with a big frothy white head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is estery with oatmeal cookies, alcohol, green apples, baked pears, banana bread, lemon zest, apricots, bitter orange zest, marzipan, white bread, golden syrup, hay and hints of glue. Taste is sweet, tiny sour, estery, phenolic and malty with crackers, white bread, oatmeal cookies, banana bread, alcohol, hay, bitter oranges, cloves, white pepper corns, dry wood, baked pears covered in marzipan and brandy, overripe apples and orange zest. Mouthfeel is soft, round, creamy, tiny spicy astringent, tingling boozy, tiny dry and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and tiny bitter with oatmeal cookies, baked pears with marzipan, bitter oranges, hay, white pepper corns, alcohol and banana bread. A great tripel that really packs an onslaught on all senses.
