The aroma is of oranges, citrus, yeast, and cloves. The color is an unclear orange with a fine but collapsing head. The flavor is sweet of oranges, cloves, and the alcohol that discretely plays over the tongue. A fantastic flavor.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Papsoe (22987) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy and dirty (as most Dolle brews), orangey golden with a huge head.... Lots of fruity esters, lots of yeast and rather complex aromas. Sweetness galore from the added candi-sugars but the hops make this drinkable indeed. An Abbey Tripel - really? 081296

Hazy golden colour with huge white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast and spices. Very carbonated. Sweet fruity flavour with lots of spices and a well balanced bitter finish. Usuallt I’m not fond of tripel’s, but this one is good.

Bottle. Aroma is very nice, yeasty and powerful, fruity and citric. Unclear, golden colour. The head is white, fluffy and creamy, big and stable. Quite alcoholic tasting. A little sweet and fruity. The bitterness is a little bit harsh, but I guess that is OK for a tripel.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2009 2009-11-26, at least 2 years old, 8-5-8-3-16=40 Hazy light amber color; highly carbonated, huge head. Mild aroma, sweet and spicy. The malt flavor is quite sweet and a bit spicy, very pleasant combination; it’s clearly alcoholic, with an unforgiving warming feeling. Average bitterness; possibly the bitterness has vanished a bit with time. Perfect maturity and balance for this beer.
2003-05-10, 8-5-9-4-16=42 Cloudy golden color. Nice aroma, like some white French wines. Malty; original taste, with a delicate wood note that adds a great complexity. I would like to try it aged and in a bigger corked bottle.
