| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & blankboy - courtesy of Harry. Dark yellow, small white head, lots of floaties. Bottle continued to foam out of the bottle , even as we half poured it and let it sit - weird. Strong alcohol in aroma. Slight citrus and light malt as well, but who am I kidding this was all alcohol. Taste was very strong as well. Surprisingly though, I thought it made a good effort to balance itself off and it became a very enjoyable beer as I sipped it (the last one of a 19 sample night). Some strong banana flavours emerged as well. Not overly complex, but a strong and tasty brew that I am having a hard time describing (not for the first time). Recommended, weird label, name, and all. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 9, 2005 Bottle: Aroma is a nice blend of strong citrus, yeast, clove, and light pepper. Pours a dull cloudy yellowish-orange with a huge off-white head with excellent retention. Flavor is sweet citrus and yeast up front. Finish has lots of orange peel, lots of spice (clove and maybe ginger), and light pepper, as well as a light acidity. It’s about time I’ve tried this considering how many times I’ve passed it by assuming I already had. A very good beer and definitely one of their best. The best Tripel I’ve had so far. 1FastSTi (2591), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2005 Bottle. Aroma: cinnamon or nutmeg, bready, wheaty, banana. Appearance: murky, thick, awesome head, beautiful lacing, liquid caramel color. Flavor: spicy, dark fruits, plantain, light grains. The palate is strongly carbonated. I don’t normally like tripels, but this sucker’s tasty. Nate (2575), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2008 From bottle. Has a dry and mildly funky nose at first, bit of aged straw with a hint of lactic acidity. Mild yeasty aroma, with some lemon rind and light bubblegum. Some floral hoppiness, but faint. Hazy golden amber liquid with a foamy-pillowy off-white lacing, lasting head. Medium bodied, with medium to heavy carbonation and a distinct alcoholic warming among the fizzy quality. Starts with boozy alcoholic warmth, pilsner malt and some honey. Candi sugar sweetness and a bit of carbonic acidity. Yeasty notes with decent chalky bitterness in the finish, but still plenty of sweet and vaporous alcohol. This is one you can feel. Pear and grain, honey and wheat. Light astringent-sweet after. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Aug 11, 2005 Can’t understand the infatuation with this one. My only thought throughout drinking this beer was alcohol, alcohol, alcohol. I’ve had much better with higher alcohol percentages. pivo (2537), Germany
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 6, 2003 Vanilla and bananas in the nose. Attractive brew: hazy gold color and a huge foamy head. Citrusy, orangy tastes blended well with a strong yeast component. Rough and dirty palate - very assertive, but oh so good.
