Strong yeasty alcoholic aroma, some herbal touches. Strong full body, some sprankling. Finish is yeasty, alcoholic sweet, strong with a long and burning ending. Some fruity touches. A mad bitch for sure. NachlamSie (1659), Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 20, 2007 Bottle. Pours an extremely cloudy light copper with an enormous, frothy white head. I mean, this is in a wide-mouth chalice and the head just expands and develops landscape. The aroma is fruity, spiced, and very complex. It has a distinct tartness, with hints of cloves, apricot, lemon, and just a slightly sour funk. The flavor is pretty well done. It’s not as sweet or dessert like as I was expecting. There are plenty of tart and bittersweet notes throughout. Cloves, banana, oranges, lemon zest, sour dough. . . the flavor profile is very expansive. This finishes on a floral, vegetal, spicy note with just minimal doughy sweetness. Pretty good stuff, very elaborate and wild. Marsiblursi (1659), Göteborg, Sweden

Pretty fast decreasing with big bubbles. The aroma is interesting. Belgian yeast and sweetness. Violet. Bubblegum-ish. Smells like a young beer. Marzipan. Strong flavour that leaves a peppery feeling in the mouth. The alcohol shines through. Tastes young and straggly. Champagne carbination. Little soapy. Good afterbitterness. Marzipan and some fruits. Yeast. Cool bottle. wetherel (1658), Encinitas, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Mad Bitch beer chosen in honor the Mad Witch fire going on in San Diego right now. $5 12oz bottle from Hi-Time. Big 3 finger white head head that won’t die, much like the smoke from a fire. The fire (liquid) is a yellow amber color. Lots of little floaties (ash). The head settles to a masterful thick creamy microbubble head with thick remnant blobs clinging to sides of the glass.. The head is a little reminiscent of Orval’s head. Aroma is a little cardboard/hay, some corriander, some orange. Alchohol is pretty well hidden. Kind of odd tannic bitterness that works with the beer. Leans sweet. kiefdog (1655), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 24, 2008 33cl bottle courtesy of Markwise. Pours a golden caramel with a one finger white head that recedes slowly. Aroma is intoxicating and almost overpowering. Smells of candy sugar, ripe dark fruit, caramel, malt and yeast. Medium bodied with a somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is much like the aroma: intoxicatingly sweet with strong notes of caramel, toffee, apple, pear, fresh fragrant flowers and honey. Alcohol tends to come through a little especially on finish but is still not overpowering. Lingering, sweet-phenol finish. One of the best tripels we have sampled. Sweet Yeasty aroma with apple, pears and maybe some banana. Flavor is malty and fruity but for a tripel lacking a little bit. A little warming effect in the finish. Overall pretty nice though. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Good cloudy appearance with lots of activity and decent head. Flavor is a little bitter and sour at first. Changes personality after warming. Odd brew.
Re-rate with a fresh bottle. I enjoyed this better than the aged bottle. Good taste that only got better as it warmed. Good balance. TURDFERGUSON (1623), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2006 Bottle. Golden orange hue with agressively carbonated white head. Nose is orange, pineapple, guava, mango, a little spices, and some yeast. Love the aroma. Flavor is initially sweet with the fruits and then a bit sharper with more bready and yeasty notes along with a pleasent alchohol bite. This is a great beer. So far, my palate has not agreed with de dolle beers, but this one--i likey.
