Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Poured out of 11.2 oz. bottle, bought at Hi-Times Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA 10/21/03. Pours to a golden cream soda color, hazy and with a frothy head that lingers. Very volatile stuff-- gently poured but the head just explodes out of this beer. Bright, glowing, spicy nose of grass and citrus (lemon). Very bitter, charged hop and coriander flavor. Intense burn of alcohol and fizz of carbonation, fruit flavor with bitter hop character. Slightly sweet of candi sugar. Mellows quickly but nicely to slightly woody/cedary finish with some apple, some malt, and candi sugar.

On tap @ Brew Kettle: Hazy golden body w/a lasting white head and alc. legs on the glass. Grainy malt and sugary sweet aromas w/ some floral hop. Alcohol aroma, but not solventy, as well as banana and citrusy esters. Well balanced and a bit on the malty side; sweet sugary and light bready malt flavors. Spicy, doughy yeast; Alcohol esters and a very mild hop flavor in the finish & aftertaste which are sweet. Some white grape juice notes. Highly carbonated, smooth m/f; med. body and alcohol warmth. A good tripel IMHO. Fine complexities and well hidden alcohol

Cloudy wheat appearance with firm white head. Tastes of banana and citrus with substantial wheaty malt foundation. Sweet and slight spices. Excellent mouthfeel for a triple. More lush than Golden Monkey, but I love the GM combo of spices. Could not detect the abv at all. Easiest 10% I’ve had- potentially dangerous.

Deep golden body, beautiful short, everlasting, creamy white head, leaving a thin lace. Heavy carbonation. Perfume, yeast and hops in the aroma. Taste is balanced, dry and slightly malty (champage, orange peel, yeast). A slight tartiness in the finish, not really sour. Lacks some complexity. Smooth, velvety body. Outstanding drinkability, hides the 10% alcohol perfectly.

2001... Poured a hazy golden color with a large white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of hay, yeast, citrus, caramel malts, spices, and yeast. Taste of vanilla, citrus, yeast, lightly sour, and a good amount of alcohol.

yeast explosion in this one... atom bomb is a better phrase. This is a very heavy tripel. Taste is a bit special, VERY yeasty. Some toffee and spice flavors, hides the abv very well, but heavy on the palate. This is a very special brew.. and I can tell you, the mad bitch bites!! ... considering the influence, I might think this was a 12%+ abv

Murky golden color, enormous creamy head, took 10 minutes to pour because of it. Aroma of banana, yeast, spice and pears. Flavor was sweet and yeasty with a fair amount of bitterness for being as sweet as it was. Some spice in there too. Full bodied, some fizziness with a dry finish. Abv was hidden pretty well. Good stuff.

Great Triple, but not my favourite. Do not drink this beer too cold, i will try it once again.
