Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva 2004 is a special version of De Dolle’s Dulle Teve, which has been matured for over 24 months in wooden casks previously used by Etienne Dupont/France to mature his famous Calvados de Normandie. The over two year maturation in those wooden casks has allowed De Dolle Dulle Teve to mellow, lose its agressive carbonation and dryness, and develop a new balance of flavors triggered by the tannin, vanilla and butterscotch flavors of E.Dupont’s Calvados casks. In addition the "invisible" Calvados hidden in the wood itself has pushed the alcohol of De Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva to about 12% to 13%

[At RBSG 2005] An amber beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, and cork - but in a nice way. The flavor is sweet with notes of peaches, alcohol, and wood. The alcohol burn the throat slightly.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of madsberg/boboski. Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Lightly tart aroma. Quite full-bodied, sweetish fruity with very delicate and subtle notes of wood. Has a very warming alcohol in the finish. A nice one. 270607

Kulminator on the Borefts 1 trip. Slightly hazy golden beer. Apples and malt on the nose. Rich brandy malt with some slightly tired apple. Overall works well though.

Bottle at Kulminator as part of the vertical tasting. Now I am a big fan of the regular Dulle Teve, it does things to me that no other beer can. This had a very attractive vanilla aroma. The body held up with with the ageing and was full in the mouth. The sweetness of the alcohol had died down and there were surprisingly good tasty hops. The best of the reservas for me that we had.

Light bronze colour. No particular head. Phenolic aroma with limited malts. Very winey, alcoholic and slight appley tartness. Mostly hot and appley in the finish. The problem is that the beer was made because the importer requested it, with Calvados barrels because the importer has a relationship with the provider of such barrels, not because the concept was great or because it needed to be made.

My Rating # 4000. 33cl. Bottle. Thanks a lot Henrik for the Trade. 2005 Vintage. Pours unclear amber with a fine stable white head and lacings. Nose is sweet of port, alcohol, plum. On top it has some slight oxydation and some spicy dolle yeast. Flavor is sweet oak, vanilla, yeast and pepper. Very well rounded. Vinous and slightly sticky palate. Warm and complex! Long end.. Brilliant! Im going for another thousand!
