Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 6, 2005 [At RBSG 2005] An amber beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, and cork - but in a nice way. The flavor is sweet with notes of peaches, alcohol, and wood. The alcohol burn the throat slightly. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 7, 2007 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of madsberg/boboski. Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Lightly tart aroma. Quite full-bodied, sweetish fruity with very delicate and subtle notes of wood. Has a very warming alcohol in the finish. A nice one. 270607 Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2005 Light bronze colour. No particular head. Phenolic aroma with limited malts. Very winey, alcoholic and slight appley tartness. Mostly hot and appley in the finish. The problem is that the beer was made because the importer requested it, with Calvados barrels because the importer has a relationship with the provider of such barrels, not because the concept was great or because it needed to be made. joergen (6240), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 2, 2007 Bottle.

dark golden yellow, huge foamy white head that creeps out of the top of the bottle, thick lace, lots of visible carbonation, spicy aroma with lots of oak, creamy body, huge tart wood flavor that really defines the beer, just a bit of malty sweetness and yeasy breadyness to balance all that wood, so much wood and so little time
