2006 vintage bottle shared from Deanso. Pours dark brown, almost black with a beige head. Aroma is musty, licorice, overripe dark fruit and port aspects, a touch of vanilla and chocolate and caramel. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Excellent

Bottle at hbf13. Black with light brown head. Roasted licorice aroma, some alcohol, coffee. Strong licorice and coffee taste, hoppy finish, vanilla.

Aroma is a bit subdued, sweetness, hints of other stout notes. Black beer, brown head. Taste is light sweetness, coffee, bit hoppy alcohol finish. Could ne a bit stronger finish, dry. Medium body.

Bottle from Dedollewaitor, ta. Jet black with a tan pockmarked head. Aroma is dark fruity. Flavour is chocolate, liquorice, raspberry on a salty base. Finish is a bit like soft centred Christmas day sweets

11.2oz bottle to hotel glass. Nice dry stout. Plenty of hop bite. Very lively carbonation.

Pours opaque black with a tan soapy head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, and licorice. Coffee, roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and dark fruit flavor. A tad hot. Very nice beer!

11.2 oz bottle. Cap says June 2010. (did not notice that when buying at BOTW) Started pouring down middle of glass... mistake... like a volcano. Most carbonation in a beer in a long time. Head slowly disapated. ok lacing. Extremely dark pour. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, some dark fruit, and licorice. Palate is moderate and highly carbonated. Some light sour fruit elements in the taste, and alcohol with a bitter chocolate finish. The alcohol was too noticeable for my taste.

Another one courtesy of the cool Icelanders :). I have to rerate this one eventually, bit ashamed of the vagueness of the ratings that day. Anyway.... impressive appearance, black, dark head. Slightly sourish, red wine barrel like notes build on a heavy malty background. Coffee is the main thing in the taste though, and basically carries this. And that’s it for my notes. Damn.
