At a tasting, thanks zvikar, lively bubbley head, deepish brown colour, yeasty and rubbery aroma with some roasted coffee behind, feels quite astringent, flavour of roasted coffee and charred wood, light bodied and much too sour. Quite difficult to drink.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottle. Pours deep dark brown, almost black, with medium beige creamy head. Looks really good. The aroma is a blend of caramel, yeast, chocolate and roasted malts. Gives the impression that itís quite sweet. It definetly is when tasting: lots of licorice and caramel notes with a touch of dark chocolate. Hints of ripe fruits as well. Medium/creamy mouthfeel, perfect carbonation. Itís a good beer, not my style of Stout though.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. 9.0%. Best before June 2013. Pours dark brown/black with a big, dark tan head. Rather sweet aroma, roasted, with a hint of liquorice and a light metallic overtone. As it warms a hint of vanilla appears as well as tart and dark fruit notes. Flavour is roasted and tart ,with dark fruit notes and a light metallic overtone. Bitter roasted finish with a mild alcohol burn. Lingering tart grassy note. Overall pretty good. The tart notes clashes a bit with the other notes though. 07.06.13.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose is chocolate malt, a soft smokiness and some sour cherries. Initially sour, the chocolate malts and smooth body come through later. Some dried pit fruits and some raisin. A soft sour finish with a touch of roast. Nothing too out there, but still quite pleasant.
