3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very nice. Huge brown head that dissolves quickly. Dark brown colour with lively carbonation. No sweetness in this one. Pleasant sourness and a flavor that is dominated by dark roasted espresso and yeast. Nice long dry bitter finish. take some time to finish the glass.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting brew. Mostly moderate roasted malts, coffee, dried fruits, berries. Moderate sweet with quite noticeable sourish kick. Feels like farmhouse stout. Not bad, but didnt quite work for me with balance

Aroma is more like Saison, the taste seems to be bit on the plane side and bit dry.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ ’t Brugs Beertje. Pours cloudy nearly black with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of roast, malt and coffee, with touches of liquorice. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of coffee and malt touches of caramel and chocolate. Bittersweet and sourish aftertaste with notes of cocoa beans. Very good.

330ml bottle served in a Trappist chalice.
A: Pours a dark brown color forming a huge creamy tan head. Good retention. A small layer remains for long time and few lacings are left in the glass
S: Very roasted and toffee. Notes of roasted malts and dark fruits, mainly. Raisins, dark chocolate, Belgian yeasts, brown bread
T: As the nose, sweet and bready upfront. Notes of dark chocolate, biscuit and raisins. Begian yeasts, roasted malts. In overall, a dry taste with a considerable and nice bitter end
M: Medium body and carbonation. Quite smooth and light to such high ABV. Aftertaste is made of roasted malts and good bitterness
O: Nice beer. An authentic De Dolle beer. Good quality. Recommend

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rather an export stout than a foreign stout, but since both substyles are related, I won’t argue about the classification given above. Crackling, irregular, deep beige head collapsing to a thin rim, colour very dark brown with ruby hue which only becomes visible under bright light. Coffee-like roasted bitterness as well as typical Belgian yeastiness in the nose, chocolate, cinnamon, flowers, raisins, candi syrup, peat. Deep malty taste, caramelly and lightly chocolatey, fruity and yeasty, with a warm and mouth-filling roasted bitterness in the end as well as a hoppy accent and some warming alcohol. Very enjoyable, albeit very Belgian stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle bought some place I can’t remember. Pours hazy dark brown with a huge frothy and fluffy brownish beige head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and vinous with toasted malts, toasted grains, burnt caramel, raisins, prunes, red wine, moist wood and hints of minerals and soil. Taste is tiny sweet, slightly bitter, tiny sour and malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, dark roast coffee, cocoa powder, soil, red wine, prunes and hints of lemon juice. Mouthfeel is round, dry, slightly tart and medium bodied. Finish is bitter, slightly sour and malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, lemon juice, red wine, soil, moist wood and coffee. Kinda nice sour stout. Not sure if it’s supposed to be sour but it works. Feels like I held on to this for too long though…
