January 2011 bottle to a tulip glass. Pours a dark brown/black with a big mocha head that subsides rather quickly. Aroma is yeast, prunes, raisin, molasses. Taste is raisin bread, licorice, and roasted coffee with chocolate and bitterness in the finish. Sweetness is cut by the alcohol bite. Thin medium mouthfeel with some effervescence. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl, flaske, 9,0 %, nydt på Ørsted Ølbar, 15. september 2013. Rating no 100 på ratebeer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ar: Acedic sourness, some dark caramel. Ap: Deep brown, lots of chunky yeast, with an enormous and rocky light tan head with great retention. T: Acedic sourness up front, with a cherry and leather quality - some cola and plum - the sourness and acidity really dominate. P: Medium body with exceptionally high carbonation - finish is very dry. O: It is difficult to find the stout in this beer as the sourness has almost completely taken over.

From a 33 cl bottle shared at home. Pours black with a massive tan head. Was a bit of a gusher. Metallic caramel nose. Flavors of plum, licorice and raisins. Very effervescent mouth feel. Moderately bitter finish.

Drank this on the Manitoba bridge in Bruges in honour of fallen Canadians who took Bruges in WW2. The aroma has a smoky wood note with tons of coffee, licorice and espresso. Bitter and heavy with a bitter chocolate and tons of roasted malts and espresso. Not balanced at all but very tasty.
