Bottled in 2010. A dark brown stout with a short and creamy tan head. Nice and roasty chocolate malt aroma. Flavor is soft chocolate malt and mild raisin with a slightly tangy finish. Mild bitterness and sweetness. Relatively thin body with a creamy mouthfeel. Well hidden ABV. The flavor could be a little more robust.

Aged bottle (? years). Aroma is coffee, brown sugar, burnt malts, hint of spice and some hints of oxidization, even in the nose. Pour is black with a moderate off-white head that recedes quickly. Flavor is, well, quite good (was a tad worried after the nose showed some signs of age...flavor tastes nice) - chocolate at the forefront...loads of chocolate. Hints of coffee and licorice. Lots of brown sugary malts - great flavor! Palate is rich and smooth...maybe a bit thin on the edges, but nothing bad. Yum - good brew...will have to try one fresh down the road!

From XXXII. In Duvel glass. After dinner. Better than the typical guinness stout thanks to its sugar. the coffee taste i dislike is only slightly appreciated in the aftertaste

Bottle. Dark brown, beige head. In aroma caramel, some roastiness and dried fruits. In taste caramel, chocolate, coffee, fruits. Medium to low sweet, medium body, meedium bitter finish with acidic notes alcohol - it makes it a bit harsh. High carbonation (too high). Overall - I was expecting much more.

(Bottle) Very dark brown colour, almost black, with thick, lasting, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of liquorice, black rye bread, dark fruit, dark chocolate and hints of yeast. Malty, roasted, fruity taste with coffee, dark chocolate, sweet liquorice, black rye bread, prunes, spicy hints of yeast and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, starts fairly sweet, but dries out towards the end. Tasty and well made with lots of liquorice, not as overly sweet as many strong Belgian stouts tend to be. Very nice.

Totally perfect beer, for me. Pheraps, carbonation is too huge. Sweety taste, caramel and chocolate.

Bottle to a pint. Very dark brown. Thick foamy tan head with amazing retention. Malt forward with some spice from the Belgian yeast. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate. A little thin on the back end...

This poured a darker brown to black with a big overcarved brown head. Aroma was of roasted malt, dry chocolate and earth. Flavor was dry and lightly bitter, overcarbed, and roasted. Meg.
