Dark brown body with brown head. Strong malt aroma. Taste is a little different. Creamy body. Flavor is mainly roasted malt but with some sweetness that is different. Not sure what the flavor is, fruits? Hop finish is a little present compared to a more choclately one that i would like. Pretty good and a little different, Im fine with a good American stout though.

Drank with Tijs, Thierry and Rik at home 21-12-2014. Beer has lots of carbonation. Taste is fairly one dimensional, dark like coffee and chocolate. Taste is fine but not that comprehensive or rich.

Bottle 33cl. Black with a brown head. Coffee nose which also is very present in the mouth. Very high carbonized. Disturbing., simple too much. After some rest I tasted it again, and now the chocolate and coffee flavours are much better. Medium length.

dark brown / almost black color. unfiltered. very tense long lasting head. coffee colored head. smells malty, light smoky notes, light chocolate, fresh, light yeasty, light spices (cloves). medium body, light fruit notes. malt bitterness overlays and dominates all other tastes very quickly. very intense and long lasting bitterness. a bit too bitter and overwhelming for me.

33cl bottle: Black with a huge tanned head, leaving lots of lacing. (Looks like the stout euivalent o A Duvel incase o foamyness, So pretty awesome. Aroma: Licorice, ash, bleuberry, chocolate and bake of bread. Taste: Roasted malt bitterness with some cocolate and Licorice notes, hazzelnuts, some bleuberry sourness. Aftertaste is a bitter ashy cacao with some hazzelnuts.. Taste is similar with nice light mouthfeel, but moderate body, dry finish, medium but sparkling carbonation.

(De Dolle Extra Export Stout) Bottle at home, served into a snifter, ABV 9% Totally black pour, with a huge dark brown head, really thick too, with very good retention helped by its size as well, leaving spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma has hops, fruity notes, light roasted malts, very appealing and inviting. Taste begins with a light acidity, then fruity touches, hops, leaves, chocolate, light coffee. Well hidden alcohol. The finish is what’s good here, as the acidity fades away and all the chocolate/roasted malts/coffee flavours dominate. Medium thick body with good carbonation. Very good, even better after it saat in the glass to warm up and breath a bit.

black like used automotive oil, with a warm, rich brown head, moderately fine, a cm thick, settles to an attractive film a couple mm thick. Aroma is coffee and hazelnuts, slightly sweet maple syrup and candy, some herb, soil, and forest floor. Body is medium-light with a very creamy mouthfeel. Fine, moderately intense carbonation. Flavor is Earthy wet leaf, coffee twinges the back of the palate (like a dry stout), herbs, and a slight, warm nuttiness in the finish. Hint of fruity (cherry) English yeast flavor as it warms. There aren’t many export stouts I’ve had in the last two years to compare this with. Reminds me of Guiness with a more complex, earthy flavor and some more sweetness. The candy, maple syrup, hazelnut notes in the aroma and the top-notch creamy-light body are the defining characteristic of this beer for me. Dank leaves are interesting, but don’t serve to make the beer more appetizing.

Black, strong brown head. Some sweetness and roastiness, strong chocolate and coffee. Nuts, chocolate and coffee - sweet more than bitter. Finishes chocolatey bitter. Very nice.
