4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Chewy, chocolatey, bitter, thick stout in the American style. Reminds me of Bell’s Expedition Stout. Should age very well.

Bottle. Creamy light borwn excellent fully lasting head. Brown colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Really great. Moderate bitter flavor but too powerfull coffee-notes. Long finish. Oily palate but way too fizzy.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured a black color with a huge frothy brown head that lasted and produced good lacing. Good roasted malt and dark fruit aroma. Full body with a smooth sticky texture. Complex roasted dark fruit stout flavor with a medium bittersweet smooth finish of moderate duration. Very well balanced dark fruity stout.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled @ Plan B, Copenhagen: Dark brown almost black coloured. Dense medium sized chocolate brown head. Awesome looks. Fruit, ligth alcahol, coffe and roast notes in the aroma. Flavour is very sharp and offensive. Loads of liqourice and very roasted. Not as smooth, as I prefer, but still quite pleasant. Ends on a fruity liqouricenote with a light alcaholburnt on the palate. This is a difficult beer. Somehow I like it, but it sure has its dark sides.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: The pour is dark brown, almost black with a huge brown head which has retained quite impressively.
S: Definitely a nice roasted quality to the nose with some coffee and dark chocolate. Some hints of licorice and dark fruits. Mild earthy and herbal notes to the nose as well.
T: Quite a nice flavor, and significantly sweeter than expected. Quite a bit of licorice to it, some dark chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Maybe some citrus hops and a definite yeastiness.
M: Medium in body with the carbonation on the high end of medium.
O: Solid beer from De Dolle, who I find to be a fairly hit or miss brewery.
