I’m not for easy enthusiasms, but this is a miracle ale: with its soothing hoppy, flowery and earthy smell, its wonderful balanced flavour, its light and easy drinkable texture, it reminded me of when I d i s c o v e r e d this hoppy side of Belgium, years ago. De Dolle is among the best brewers in the world and Lichtervelds is another confirmation. Splendid.

Bottle (33 cl) from bieresgourmet.be. Clear amber, medium off-white head. Peppery bubble-gum phenolic aroma with floral hops and some bready malt. Meidum bodied, medium carbonation. Dry with firm bitterness. Very nice.

Pour is a light tranparent orange with tons of tight fluffy white head. Nose is very dusty and earthy with hints of rubber cement, peppery spice and notes of lemon in back. The taste follows the nose with a bit more spice and a very dusty earthy aspect mid palate, back is lemon grass with a decent peppery spice in the finish. Light body with a bit of a grainy feel on the palate, assertive carbonation and semi dry finish.

33cl bottle. Quite clear golden with a medium white head. Nose : banana and peach, bread and some caramel. Sip : Medium thick body with oily texture and decent carbonation. Sweet with following bitter hop notes. Tart followed by strong pepper and citrus seed bitterness. Nice brew ! Really well balanced, alcohol well hidden and easy to drink so got to be careful. Good !

A light amber pour with a white head. Very spice forward aroma on this. A good bread note, some yeast, and plenty of malt sweetness. A bit of pear and apple fruits and some banana. Tastes strongly of sweet pale malt and sugar. Plenty of banana and clove spiciness, a bit of alcohol, and a mild bitterness. Quite fruity as it warms up, too.

Grima (2069) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - OCT 1, 2012

The beer in the glass is hazy golden yellow, with a high, white, soapy head. It smells very hoppy, fruity and subtle yeasty-sourish. Starts with a lot of sour yeast and bitter hop notes. The middle part is grainy, strong acidic-yeasty and slightly flowery with some aroma hops. Goes into a yeasty. grainy and very tart, fruity finish!

Little cloudy blond to light amber beer, big irregular creamy head, stable, non adhesvie. Aroma: banana, floral, citrus, bit sourish, lemon, some overripe fruits, yeasty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: little malty, hay, distinct yeasty character, sweet alcohol, bit floral, grassy hops, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: fruity, apples and pears, bitter yeasty ending, bit cheesy.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Brussels. Rated on 20.07.2010
Started to come from the bottle right away after opening the cap. Aroma has apricot, some yeast and hints of citron. Flavour is fruity and somewhat tart with some apricot, belgian toffee and hints of citron. Good.
