Feb 10, 2007 gahl06, bottled. hazy golden and has a lasting head. aroma of splice ice cream, rose petals, hints of coriander. really nice mouthfeel - furry but finishing dry. hints of honey and vanilla, some tinny bitterness

Oct 9, 2006 Cloudy golden-blonde body with a medium white head. Smell of harvesting season. Lots of hay, some citrus, candy and honey and that De Dolle yeast all over the place. Dry hops mouthfeel. Although very much a strong Belgian I thought there was some gueuzish elements in the aroma and finish (freshly cut hay and dry favourless hops). Thick muffin like mouthfeel. Alcohol extremely well hidden. 9%!?! You’ve got to be kidding me, that stuff is so light I could easily drink 10 of them. After 8: “Hey bob, I love you man, you’re my best friend”. Bob: “my name is Ron.”

Sep 25, 2006 Clear golden. Large frothy head. Not stable. De Dolle yeast aroma. Ripe fuit. Excellent balance between bitter and sweet.

Jul 24, 2006 Updated: Sep 2, 2007Bottle from Utobeer. What a sight, lovely fluffy head that lasts till the end and leaves beautiful lacing. Hazy and golden in colour with slight sediment. Very strong spicy aroma. A taste like sipping on creamy brandy. Delicious, the De Dolle Brouwers are quickly becoming one of my favorite breweries.

May 11, 2006 Bottle, 8% (2002 brouwsel). Slow gusher whirling up sediment. Kept on slowly gushing for at least 30 minutes. Quite peppery, fruity aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Very big, stable white head. Cardboardy, earthy flavour, peppery and sweet. Seems a bit old, but is still nice. Highly carbonated.

Apr 26, 2006 Bottle, sampled at Kulminator. Vintage 1998. Hazy golden with a rich pillowy white foam. Very fruity and yeasty aroma of pine-apples, apricot, dried oranges and grass. Well-balanced flavour of mango, pine-apples, orange-peels and grassy subtle hops. Fine and long final of white bread, wet grass and apricot with the De Dolle yeast in the background. Really nice Strong Golden.

Apr 2, 2006 Poured a lightly cloudy, orange gold color with a large, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruits, green apple, some vanilla, tart grape, and some yeast. Taste of apples, and citrus fruits. Starts sweet, and finishing tart with a fair amount of alcohol.

Mar 1, 2006 Looked damn good this one. Aroma was not bad (stone fruits, a bit smoky), but I got a whiff of prawns that surprise me enough to put me off a tad. Well rounded flavour with a bit of sourness, as well as a punch of bitterness at the end. I think I’d like to give this another go, given the chance (but thanks to Duff for this first chance!!)
