2008 version. Bottle pours deep burgundy with slightly pink tinted tan head. Average head but solid retention. Nose is definitely dark fruit (cherry, grape) and perfume, strong but pleasing. flavors include plum, cherry, and slight Saaz spiciness including black and white pepper. Thin body, tart, dryish. Refining in bottle to the degree of attenuation has thinned it out compared to many Belgians, but not displeasingly. Finish is sour and somewhat lactic with slight cherry aftertaste.

Bottle, brewed in 2012. Pours clear red with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is tart cherries, oak, vanilla, red wine, slight aceton. Taste is tart up front with an increasing dry oak note, slight sharp high alcohol finish, dry woody tart finish. Body is light/medium and fairly lively carbonation. A bit too much nail polish for me.

Amazing beer. Aroma: Cherry, wine notes, berries, vanilla, leather. Taste is very compex; wine, oak, caramel, medium sourness. Alcohol is quite well balanced for a 13%. Ace beer

2010 Vintage Hazy almost clear deep amber pour with a thin slightly lively off white head .... aroma is sour and a bit acidic with red vinous notes, dark fruits .... taste is of light vinous notes, acidic, sour, dark fruits, oak, with some cherry and apple to it ..... dry and a little lively with a light bitter and dry finish .... absolutely no trace of abv and this has aged so well ... loving this ....... 2006 Vintage Darker amber color with a small beige head ... aroma is of very light smoke and dark fruits ..... taste is a bit smoked oak, sour vinous notes, lightly acidic and more of a softer carbonation than the 2010 ... finish is not as dry with still a decent light bitter bite and acidic .... For 13% abv this beer is made extremely well I enjoyed the fresher vintage more

Bottle, brewed in 2009. Hazy chestnut brown with a bubbly diminishing tan head. Mouthwatering complex nose, vinous, oak, very light acetone, over ripe fruit. Aroma delivers the same things; clean notes of oak, dusty, redcurrant, raspberry, light acetone, light red wine. Medium body, no telling of the alcohol except a nice warming feel from deep within, where the good beers hit the spot. Medium sweet, little bitterness, light acidic. So light and still so complex and drinkable with no alcohol burn despite the abv. This is insanely good, can’t ask for more. Good price as well.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours reddish brown with some sediment and an off-white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are oak, berries, vanilla, and tartness - with a tart finish.

This beer is a peach. No matter the price, grab one immediately. Red wine body with medium carbonation gives rise two a bubbly off white head. Nose of red berries and aged wood gives you a heads up for what’s in store. A lovely balanced flavor of sour and sweet comes from hints of cherries, raspberries, grapes, yeasty notes and a hefty backbone of a lovely wood taste. Simply delicious.

2012 bottle. Pours hazy light brown with a small head that fades almost instantly. Aroma has some red wine, red berries and very little funk. The high ABV shines through in the start but disappears as it warms up. Taste has light balsamico, red currants, grapes and some vanilla.

Brewed 2009, bottled in 2010. Aroma is fairly fruit with a lot of dark, tart cherries, berries and cassis with lighter plum and some fruit. Light oak notes. Light toasted bread and caramel with medium light acidity. Pours a fairly clear, burnt amber brown with a fairly large, thick tan head with pretty nice retention. Slowly recedes until a thin film is left then it seems to stop. Light leaving and medium legs. Flavor is fairly tart upfront but some malt character of toasted bread and caramel does show through. Medium fruit notes of cherries, berries and cassis with lighter notes of raisins and plums. Medium light oak notes and light alcohol spice in the finish. Some lingering acidity and fruit in the finish. Light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation and a crisp, dry finish. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Overall a superb, high alcohol sour red/brown ale. Really nice fruit notes and balance acidity that still allows some malt character to show. Nice light oak notes.

2006 bottle. Pour is deep murky reddish brown with a thin beige head. Aroma is tart and woody with notes of berries, red wine, and oak. Flavor is quite tart up but that quickly gives way to faint cedar notes followed by flavors of cherry pie, dry red wine, and faint holiday spice. The finish is butter toffee, earthiness, and more oaky red wine. No alcohol anywhere to be found. This may be the most complex sour brown I have ever had. Wow, that’s pretty amazing stuff.

Vintage 2010. Brune légèrement rougeâtre. Nez de liège mouillée. Bouche un peu trop mince: griottes et barrique avec un côté vineux et acétique. Un peu d’astringence en finale et des notes terreuses.
