COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oerbier means original, from the spring. This beer has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons). Oerbier is brewed from no less than 6 malts. Poperinge Golding hops in flowers and a special yeast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery we have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8°C and allow Oerbier to age at its best. After a couple of years Oerbier tastes like it should have been blended with wine … Oerbier has been refermented in the bottle and contains a layer of yeast, having vitamins B. NAT en STRAF on the glasses means WET and STRONG, a warning for the 7.5 vol. alcohol content. The little person on the glasses is the Oerbier man, a simple creature who holds a brewers fork in his right hand, symbolizing the work and science, but looking to the other side, the result of all this, the glass of (Oer)beer. The artwork on the poster is a wallpainting found in Spain, (Altamira) and is considered by art lovers as being the best prehistoric art work (30,000 years BC). On the other hand we have Oerbier started in 1980, going on with the tradition. Pours hazy light mahogany with a rich brown fluffy head leaving lacing. Aroma is sweet malty, fruity, cherries and red wine. Fresh fruity mouthfeel. Sweet acidy, wine like, alcohol, glue and hoppy flavor. Fruity hoppy palate. Finishes fruity sourish turning later to a great tart aftertaste.

Pours a dark brown with a thick tan foamy head. Aroma of caramel. Taste is nutty, roasted. Well Carbonated. There is something that I can’t put my finger on. Maybe the blends of malt. an intresting B.S.A.

11.6oz bottle. Murky brown pour with a big frothy light tan head. Lovely funky aroma - sweet malts, yeast, cola, burnt sugars, and fruit grapes. Tastes are dried fruits, nuts, port wine, grape, cherry, raisins and cocoa. Dry yeasty palate. Tart crisp spicy finish. Complex and difficult to describe. Like some of their others better, but still a very interesting sipper.

09 bottle. Pours a deep hazy brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma has tons of dark fruits, cocoa, caramel, toffee, roasted sweet nuts, brown sugar, and sweet toast. along with some delicious wood and earthiness. Flavor starts with sweet rich plum and a touch of spice, overripe dark fruits, brown sugar, a bit cakey with chocolate and a touch tart in the creamy finish. Creamy smooth medium to medium full body and a soft carbonation. Awesome stuff, complex and smooth

On tap. Color is red brown with a white head. Aroma has some sweetness and sourishness. Same characteristics in the taste and aftertaste is lightly bitter. I expected a little bit more of this. Maybe next time I should try the bottled one so that it is a little warmer.
