COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oerbier means original, from the spring. This beer has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons). Oerbier is brewed from no less than 6 malts. Poperinge Golding hops in flowers and a special yeast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery we have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8°C and allow Oerbier to age at its best. After a couple of years Oerbier tastes like it should have been blended with wine … Oerbier has been refermented in the bottle and contains a layer of yeast, having vitamins B. NAT en STRAF on the glasses means WET and STRONG, a warning for the 7.5 vol. alcohol content. The little person on the glasses is the Oerbier man, a simple creature who holds a brewers fork in his right hand, symbolizing the work and science, but looking to the other side, the result of all this, the glass of (Oer)beer. The artwork on the poster is a wallpainting found in Spain, (Altamira) and is considered by art lovers as being the best prehistoric art work (30,000 years BC). On the other hand we have Oerbier started in 1980, going on with the tradition. For more information on Oerbier's recent recipe history, see the following article: http://www.bunitedint.com/Products/de_dolle/oerbier-re_evolution.html

Poured into tulip a brown color with decent off white head. One of the most interesting beers I have had, very complex. Aroma for me was roasted malts, some nut, wood, wine, all together it had an aroma similar to a good brewed soy sauce. Taste was similar to the aroma. the beer was yeasty and had a port or sherry flavor. Alcohol for me came late in the finish and was warming to some extant. The alcohol seemed well blended till that point. I get some soy sauce also in the finish. Med bodied and quite wet, a little too easy to drink, like that is a problem. Incredible.

Bouteille de33cl. Couleur cola, mousse très abondante, retombe assez vite.

Dark Brown beer with a beige head. Hints of dark fruit, some wine aromas and yet also a bit sour. Top beer.

There are beers reference. A beer that evolves beautifully in the glass inside the mouth bottle. I do not know if the best is the smell, the taste in the mouth, the color, in short, a beer brutal!

Deep amber, clear. Full body, flavorful, intense heat. Sweetness is followed by mild bitterness. Fruity, alcoholic. Rich and powerful, good way to finish a tasting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Café Gaspar. Sweet fruity nose, perhaps so fruity that it seems a little bit solventy. That´s a greedy one, good body and caramel notes. It’s simple but sincere. Liked it.

330ml bottle from Belgium in a Box - Pours a cloudy brown with huge beige head and very active carbonation. The nose is mellow and sweet, with caramel, various dark fruits, a slight winey note, and a touch of spicy alcohol. The flavour is full of dark fruits. Plum, raisin, a little bit of sour black cherry sweets, then a soft caramel sweetness. The finish is slightly dry and rather vinous, but quickly warms with the booziness kicking in. Mouthfeel is smooth and silky. Best I’ve had in a while this.
