ElGaucho56 (369), USA Aug 23, 2007 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a lucious dark brown with a garnet tinge when held to light. Forms a microcosm of velvet beige foam which simply never dissipates throughout the beer’s lengthy session. As it slowly warms, it relinquishes notes of treacle, sour raspberries, even a vague melon tinge to the dominant malt sweetness of the nose. On the palate, it is miraculously full-bodied, silky smooth, notes of ginger, brown sugar, red wine, sour fruit, and pleasant yeast bite giving way to mild bitterness and wheat malt profile in a lovely lengthy finish. This one’s a true original (hahaha).
