Reasonably clear light brown with a good pale head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is raisins, brown sugar, dates, figs, baked apple, caramel, honey, hint of booze. Full bodied, sticky mouthfeel, sweet on the palate with a fruity finish. Taste is caramel, baked apple, raisins, wildflower honey, Belgian candy sugar, hint of fig and dried apricot. Yum.

Bottle at Mikkeller, thanks to Martin. Pours clear chestnut with a white head. Aroma is amazing - intense red wine aroma. Lots of sherry-like heavy fruitiness, much like sherryk drizzled raisins or figs. Lightly oxidized. The classic orange-zing from a rather young stille Nacht. Beautiful! Taste has a lot of the same elements. The lightly astringent oak notes emphasize the beer’s bitterness in the finish. Amazing! Such dollars, much rare, wow, very belgium.

Clear amber color, thin off-white head. Prominent wine character on the nose: not quite fully ripened grapes, wood, earth, and light acidity. There’s also apple, pear, brown sugar, and a mild barnyard funk. Sweeter in taste but follows through with that vinous acidity. Body is halfway between medium and heavy, with a clean finish. The alcohol is hidden very well.

Bottle, Pours hazy and amber with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, wood, grapes, spicy notes and riped fruit. Sweet flavour that ends up more dry and with warming alcohol. Medium to full bodied, oily text. and flat to soft carb. A great winter warmer.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Bottle: thanks, Kevin! Hazed copper color, light amber with a white-ish head that fades to a film & ring in no time. Aroma has some sour red apple, light musky oak, some lacto-ish Belgian funk, & a touch of some unidentifiable spice, but very light. Taste has a nice tartness; lemon, apple, & a very light vinous character with a hint of oak & white grape. Bready Belgian yeast, a hint of must, & a finishing touch bourbon-y booziness, but it is by NO means hot. 12% ABV goes unnoticed. Some nice, very lightly funk-y Brett notes throughout. This is a great Belgian ale.
