UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Bottle: thanks, Kevin! Hazed copper color, light amber with a white-ish head that fades to a film & ring in no time. Aroma has some sour red apple, light musky oak, some lacto-ish Belgian funk, & a touch of some unidentifiable spice, but very light. Taste has a nice tartness; lemon, apple, & a very light vinous character with a hint of oak & white grape. Bready Belgian yeast, a hint of must, & a finishing touch bourbon-y booziness, but it is by NO means hot. 12% ABV goes unnoticed. Some nice, very lightly funk-y Brett notes throughout. This is a great Belgian ale.

Bottle - 750mL corked and crowned. Orange-amber with a short, bubbly white head. Aroma is slightly boozy with lots of wood and wine atop grape skins, candied apple, yeast and flowery notes. Taste is wet wood, wine, grape skins, candied fruit, sweet malt notes, flowers, yeast, pineapple cake, booze and slightly tart fruit. Body is medium with a soft, creamy carbonation. There’s light stickiness and only soft alcoholic warmth. Finishes with more abundant wine and wood notes, tart fruits, candied fruit notes, sweet malt, lighter cake notes, yeast and booze. Yummy! Perfect Christmas beer!

Serving: 750 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. 2010 vintage. Hazy amber orange pour with a loose off white head. Short lived head at that. Interesting nose with lots of oak and vinous notes. Night light tartness pairs nicely against the Belgian yeast notes and overall sweetness. Slight nail polish note on the back end. Glad I got to have it, but the price is pretty steep compared to what you get.

A bit sour taste. Not really my thing. Though very complex and dynamic, which is good. Great smell. Good beer.

Bottle @ Scooper Tasting in Ulfborg. Pours murky orange amber with small and airy off-white head. Complex, vinous and sweetish aroma of hops, flowers, yeast and fruit. Heavym sweetish onset of malt and fruit, giving way to vinous notes and fruity and floral notes. Discernible and warming alcohol presence. Lingering, complex and burdensome aftertaste. Very nice, indeed. If only it looked better!
