Is not Christmas without stille nacht! This is an amazing elaborated beer, dry hopping and Christmas style’s spices makes this beer unique; aged or fresh stille nacht is a beer that shows all the passion and tradition behind it. I’ve tried it on tap and in bottles, both amazing. Try it to taste a bit of Christmas’ magic.

Pours hazy apricot with a thick eggshell head. Aroma delivers fresh malt, fruity and subtle butterscotch notes. Flavor offers fruity, yeasty and fresh malt tones, though the butterscotch seems to disappear. Mouthfeel presents decent fizz and body. Happy any old holiday!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2008 vintage bottle at Mikkeller Bar Viktoriagade, july 25th 2015. Hazy orange amber body with a medium beige head. Aroma of burned caramel, apples and honey, spicy yeast. Taste is fruity with marzipan, raisins, and a mild balancing bitterness. Faint alcohol notes. Warm pleasant plum finish. Quite a good beer!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
0,33l bottle at home. there is some kind of print on the cap, unfortunatly part is missing only 2015 is readable, which I assume means the vintage. orange hazy color with quite a lot of particles, rather big white head. smells of belgian yeast, spices, oranges, some sweetness, ripe fruits, good smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes citric, belgian yeast, nice fruit notes, candy, good spices, peppery, light alcohol. finishes lightly dry with notes of ripe fruits and spices. good stuff drinks very good for the high ABV.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from 2014. Aroma: Quince tincture, winey, banana, apricot, spices, minimal licqueury feeling. Appearance: Nice stiff head, color is golden. Taste: Very smooth, strong quince again, very fruity, alcohol feelable just in the licqueury feeling, spices feelable stronger than in aroma. Palate: High carbonation, extremely drinkable, body is medium, finish is sweet.

Decided against ageing this bottle. Beautiful beer. Supremely drinkable for its ABV.
De Dolle are quickly becoming one of my favourite Belgian breweries.
Carbonation is just right. Retains a decent size head.

BTL beat me to it again.. Firstly, props to the Sloth for providing the beers for both ratings...you heathen, knuckle dragging, flannel wearing, biscuit sucking, old bay loving, clark road driving hick. Firstly folks all hop presence is lost during this malt centric, smooth focused, creamy lusciously apportioned body. Split with the Alex. I thought tripel when I first tasted it. but Strong ale seems about correct. I am sure that it will be a silent night since Alex and I got a bit boisterous installing the new 220 line to the table saw... Watch out world.... I can cut you inhalf... if I drink enough of this beer.
