An unclear orange beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is very yeasty and spicy. The flavor is malty and very round spicy with light notes of white wine but also yeast. The alcohol burns a little in the end.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 madsberg (7300) - Søborg, DENMARK - NOV 17, 2004
Bottled: Unclear light yellow coloured. Off white medium sized dense head. Yeast, grapes, sweetness and fruit in the aroma. Dry and yeasty flavour. Is citric, light spiced and has clear white wine notes. Is fruity, citric and light sweet in the end. This is by no means my favourite De Dolle, but its a quite funny beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JorisPPattyn (6428) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 30, 2003
(Beer from DDB, mixed with 10% Luxemburg Riesling wine)
Gushing to huge, irregular creamy head, collapsing. Flunky, totally opaque amber colour. Lactic, Brett-like nose (phenolic), but also fruity and flowery. Perfumed taste, rosewater, soft spices as galanga root, etc. Sweet, slightly sour taste and tart-ish finish. Well-bodied, slightly slick mouthfeel. In the aftertaste, it gets (hop)bitter. Nice; I was afraid after the first reports, but this is OK. Spicey, fruity, original. Yet it will be a one-off, they say.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ernest (5117) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 20, 2004
Bottle, Kulminator, Antwerp. Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, fully lasting. Body is dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs, lemon), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of banana and pineapple. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. It wasn’t on Kulminator’s beer list, but when I showed her the scribbled paper filled with beer I was hunting, the lady who was serving me said "ya, we have Zannekin." I saw it again in Bruges, but one takes a rare brew when he/she can get it!

Bottled at Kulminator. Lemon and flowers aroma. Golden color, firm white head, very nice lace. Light sweet, light bitter, citrus, medium body and light dry. Refreshing, clean and very well balanced beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beershine (4562) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - OCT 22, 2007
Had at Erasmus. Not as special as other de Dolle but still enjoyable to drink and I’ll pretty much drink their waste water. Odd flavors, kind of funny like their logos.

Aroma is fruity, probably with white grapes (wine..), bit triple style. Cloudy, orange coloured with a white huge head. Spicy taste with winey fruits. Well balanced taste. Medium body.
