Blu bu A - muddled purple with 1 finger pink head gone in a flash. S - mmm that de garde cheesy/yougurty funk! Sharp acetic(with slight acetone) notes, lemon juice and berries just mashed in with those amazing tillemook coastal bugs. So much berry on the nose. Damn! M - very sharp acetic at first. Mellows as it sits around. Tart on the front, nice sweet malty middle. Tart mouth watering end. Medium body with a watery mf. Nice palate. The sharpness is balanced well with the sweetness. T - nose. O - damn! Trevor has a winning formula. Imperial boysenberry was better but this is damn close. 4.3

Shimmering ruby, hazy white large bubbled ring, dissipates quick. Light chemical playdoh DG nose, moderate manure, faintly dusty, sour fruit is deep with warmth. Arsenic heavy nose, as much cherry as blueberry, high acid mid palate sticks to tongue, slick and burning along the jowls, massively sour with light salt and chemical in the finish. Fizzy body accents how sour it is, huge acid overload.

Pour is dark maroon with a lot of pink head. Nose has a moderate blueberry, yeast presence, faint plastic, dusty notes and a touch of lactic. Taste is fairly assertive blueberry, a hint of plastic, vanilla lacto, notes of yeast, strong sourness and a bit of acetic acid. Typical de garde body, lighter with a strong carb and a bit prickly and puckering in the back.

Not as much blueberry character as I would hope for. Just kinda a slightly sweeter berliner with a light berry trace. Good stuff regardless.

Draft at brewery, Tillamook. Pours a dark purple, lots of pale purple head. Aroma funky, funk increasing as beer warms. Direct, fruity, with a slightly tangy lactic backing. Body full and juicy, with a latent tartness. One of the betters BUs for me.

Salmoniform (831) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - AUG 2, 2014
Poured from bottle to snifter. Deep hazy blood red hue with fizzy pink head that dissipated immediately. Aroma is blueberry, lactic, oak, acetic. Mouthfeel is refreshing with a medium light bidy and sharp carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness initially with an explosive tart sourness through the finish. Overall this is a really nice sour ale.

Served in a de Garde tulip. Nose and flavor heavy on the blueberry. Moderate acidity. A bit too much muted earthiness for me. Something about blueberry berliner doesn’t work for me, as I’ve had similar thoughts on other berliners with this fruit.
