Our version of a Berliner Weisse, but fermented with ambient yeast and bacteria. Tart with citrus and fruit notes, a subtle grain character, and a hint of funk.

Bottle (750 ml). Shared by JulienHuxley, thanks! Split 2 ways. Hazy pale green-ish yellow with no head and no lacing. Aroma is lemony forward with mild herbal notes, cider notes, lime and yogurt. Taste is quite sour, but at an acceptable level for De Garde, lots of lemon and lime presence, yogurt, herbal notes, mild spiciness and cider notes. Very light body, a bit watery but not that bad. Low carbonation. Tart and lemon/lime finish with yogurt aftertaste. It’s easy drinking and refreshing. A bit too sour for what I like but far from the worst from De Garde on that aspect. Still far away from less hyped products like Mikkeller Drink’in I had earlier this week. Good.

Bottle shared with Tom, thanks Duffman! Clear pale gold pour with vanishing fizzy white head. Aroma is quite cidery, super acidic, acetic aromas, citric aromas, lemony, soapy. Taste super sour, peachy sourness, gastric and acetic acid, enamel stripping. Palate is light bodied, dry, low carbonation. :(

very slight cloudy yellow no head. Aroma wheat, sour, pears, grapes. Tastes sour, perfumy wheat, slight tomatoes. Ehh. a bit of wheat residue on palate. not fully quenching. There’s so many better berliners out there.

Pours from the bottle with a thin whispey, pale head. the beer is a pale golden hue. Smells lightly tart, lactic, cider overnotes, hints of grassy weeds maybe, and perhaps even a hint of grain character.

Nicely sour, a bit more so than I was expecting from a beer that was so light. Very light bodied, refreshing, and lightly carbonated. Lots of lactic acid is the most noticeable flavor here. Sour dried grass, a touch of lemon character, and a hint of cider character.

A nice, refershing example of a Berliner . I am definitely enjoying this, and really like how low in alcohol this is.

Bottle at RBWG. It pours a hazy yellow color. The aroma is herbal and lemony. The flavor is the same with a touch of funk. Wouldn’t have guessed this was at such a low ABV. Very drinkable. Good stuff.

Bomber pour to cup. Apple cider vinegar nose. Light and clear off yellow, medium bubble active carbonation. Apple cider, tart, sourdough, tastes similar to a very good kombucha. Leaves a sharp but pleasant sourness.

De Garde Bu Weisse 2.1% This Champagne of the North is a very pale gold with a lovely tart aroma of lemons, hay & possibly apple cider. Light bodied with a highly effervescent carbonation. Exceptionally tart, lactic, acidic, lemon, melon, cidery/vinegar notes with a dry finish. Really nice refreshing stuff that packs in the flavor for just 2.1% Table beer anyone?
