4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy, nearly opaque pale orange, no head. Aroma is really nice: super fruity, with pineapple, peach, and apricot leading the way along with orange juice and mild gin botanicals. Slight tartness, white wine. Taste is sweet and bitter orange and funky Basque cider along with slight graininess, saison spice, kafir lime, and a pleasant lactic sourness. Oaky finish with some juniper. Some lemon juice too. Prickly carbonation. Nice balance and less sour than I was expecting given my past De Gardes. The aroma in particular makes this a winner.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle split at CBC Clerko from an IP trade with MJ, 06/01/15.
Looks like a mango smoothie, kind of artificial orange hues with little in the way of a head.
Nose is bitter orange, herbal strokes, light menthol, papaya, spice.
Taste comprises tarte fruit, mango, bitter orange, spice, straw, tangerine.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light acidic vibes in the close.
Solid enough saison but lower down the running order on the De Garde beers I’ve had.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours murky orange with quickly dissipating head. The nose is musty, barnyard, earth, bitter-orange, must, touch of grapefruit rind, vanilla and light pepper notes. The taste is bitter-orange, sour, orange juice, grapefruit juice from concentrate, mild acidity, drying wood, light vanilla and some mouth-pucker with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting stuff, but not my favourite from these guys.

Bottle... Pours murky and straw-colored with a small, white, bubbly head. The nose is earthy, pungent, grapefruity and bready. Full-bodied with lazy carbonation. The flavor is quite tart and fruity with notes of orange peel and pith. Finishes tart and bready with a hint of crusty bitterness.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 2, 2015 Bottle: Dense, burnt sunshine-orange body, opaque with an off-white head that literally diffuses into nothing in seconds. Aroma smells like a Screwdriver made with Gin. Big-time orange juice aroma, gin, spruce, light pine needles, mild earthy & leafy hop notes, a touch of spicy oak, & some herbal overtones throughout. Flavor has a nicely tart orange juice punch out of the gate. Light farmhouse hay & wood character. Gin in present, but light enough to not steal the show. Mild grassy, earthy, herbal tones. Faint pine. Little bits of grapefruit flesh & grapefruit peel, too. Orange juice & dry oak finish. Absolutely awesome stuff.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beautiful blending of dry hopped herbal and trebly clementine fruit notes with dry must, clean acids and subtle malt construction. Kumquat, apricot, and clementine extreme; hard to find where acids end and hop oils begin; superb.
