theisti (1640), Leawood, Kansas, USA Oct 16, 2008 750 ml bottle purchased at Beertopia in Omaha, Nebraska. Pour is a cloudy shiny yellow golden with a nice one inch white head. Aroma of citrus (orange lemon), menthol, wax, an interesting nose. Taste is wheaty, some citrus, some of the herbal menthol form the nose. Decent flavors, clean and refreshing. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Oct 8, 2008 Pours dirty blond with a rocky white head. The aroma has lightly toasted sweet malt with some candi sugar and some nectar fruit, milkiness and merely a hint of hops. Medium / thin body with lots of sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with spicy hops, some fruitiness, toasty malt and lots of what is on the aroma. The finish is fairly bland. This is okay, but nothing special at all. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Sep 25, 2008 Cloudy pale gold body with a bright egg shell colored head. The aroma has funky pears along with some cinnamon and leather hints. The taste has some sweet biscuit and hay notes. There is also some canned peaches in the finish. More straw like than fruity, this also has some herbal hints in the finish. Decent with a highly carbonated body. JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium Sep 16, 2008 On tap at Moeder Lambic. Pours bright yellow-gold with thick, creamy, off-white head. Nose is citrus and herbal, maybe lemon and orange zest and coriander. Lightly sweet flavor, mild bitterness, aromatic backdrop of lemon, lemongrass, and that herbal-vegetal character. Light and soft in the mouth. Refreshing, but I’m not wild about that herbal bit. SSSteve (2049), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 30, 2008 hazy gold pour under a creamy white head. yeasty marshmallow, tropical fruits, hint of citrus in aroma. a little too carbonated with a watery texture. light bodied. flavor is fruity, tropical and slightly tart. dry finish. BoBoChamp (1334), Gent, Belgium Jul 26, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, easy to drink beer, hazy, good head, nice brew Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Jul 19, 2008 Bottled. A cloudy dark golden beer with a medium sized but immediatly collapsing white head. Lots of sediments. Not bad but rather simple malt aroma with light hoppy, fruity and spicy notes. A hint of alcohol too. The flavour has a medium sweetness and a light bitterness. The flavours seem not totally refined. Soft mouthfeel, light to medium body, lively carbonation, quite short finish with light to medium bitterness. Not bad, soft, unoffensive (perhaps too much) ale. Average for a Belgian micro. davidpl (435), Santiago, Chile Jun 10, 2008 Appearance: golden color. Medium head with white color, dense and lasting.
Aroma: light sweet smelts from malts and some yeasty. Spicy and citric aromas from hoops, with reminiscences of herbs, eucalyptus and grapefruits.
Flavor: light sweetness start from pale malts, spicy progress with reminiscences of ginger, coriander and other herbs. Some citric-dry notes similar to grapefruits and orange peel. Light and lasting hoopy-dryness final. Gingery aftertaste.
Palate: light to medium body and medium carbonation.
Remark: decent blond ale, but the “ginger-touch” of some De Graal beers is repetitive.
